Happy Halloween!

This has always been my favourite holiday! I even have a daughter born on Halloween (I distinctly remember throwing all of our Halloween candy and pumpkins at our neighbours on the way to the hospital).

Our attempt at pumpkin creativity (lets just say we were science majors not arts majors, ok?):

Those are awesome!

I don't think I've ever carved a pumpkin, but the last few years, some of my friends at work and I have decorated the office with carved bell peppers with tea lights inside them. They're awesome because they're all multi-coloured, so they're like shiny little lanterns everywhere.

They do look kinda cool. And they're a helluva lot easier to carve too, heh.

I'm so lazy.

You've never carved a pumpkin? Not a British thing?

I love the idea of the bell peppers, especially as you'd have different colours.

Halloween doesn't tend to be such a big deal over there, I think. I mean, there might be a few trick-or-treaters out, and sometimes people decorate, but for a lot of people, it's just another day. So nah, I've never decorated and carved pumpkins and all that, really.

The bell peppers came about in the first place because my sister did decide to have a Halloween party one year, but in her usual organised manner was attempting to buy a pumpkin to carve at 6pm on Halloween itself, and funnily enough, they'd sold out. So we ended up buying peppers because they sorta looked vaguely pumpkin-shaped, and they actually worked really well.

I am so in love with the bell pepper idea! I am going to use that someday.
