Lifehacks for my friends who visiting Russia for very first time:
1) How to communicate with Russian police. It's the most terrible people in Russia, so u must prepare. There are guide about it in Lonely planet and other websites, so pls read it carefully, unless u want to spend ur time in Russian prison
🤣
2) Couchsurfing.org is very useful in Russia, coze all couchsurfing folk speaking English. Russian normaly do not speak English. Well, new generation espesially in Saint Petersburg do speak a bit. So if u don't want to stay with locals via CS, at least meet locals for coffee&walks, get the tips about best places&food&culture
3) If u do visa (not using World Cup 2018 visa-free opportunity) invitation letter is only 20$ online, and its the best option, takes couple of days only.
4) Train is the best transport to travel in Russia, from city to city. U can buy tickets online, in English is available too.
5) The true Russia is not Moscow, it's village, any village. Try hard to visit at least 1, and u 'll enjoy banya (Russian sauna), dacha, gardens, forest with mushrooms& berrys and bears, of course, bicycle rides, river &fishing - many other things, depend which season u coming. The best Russian girls are from village too (look at me
🤣). Ukranian girls are even better
😍
6) Must c cities: Saint Petersburg, Moscow and cities of Golden Ring around it, Sochi, Kazan, Nizhni Novgorod, Ekaterinburg,Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Vladivostok. Well, Perm city too, especially if I'm around
🤣
😍
7) U can come to almost any school in Russia and easily became English teacher for couple of hours, u can talk about ur country, ur travel, etc. By doing this u 'll make everyone happy, teachers &kids
8) If about food, u must try: blinchiki (pancakes) with smth inside - vege, caviar, mushrooms, etc; potatoes in many ways, vareniki (is like dumplings), kampot, pirogi, many kinds of salads, sup borsh, uha (fish soup). There are many affordable Russian fast foods & USSR - style cafe, there are many vegetarian options too.
9) Another super important things: take good care of ur belongings, coze it can disappear in few seconds, really. Ur documents, $, everything can be easily stolen. In this case don't drink vodka with people u don't know. Better don't drink any alcohol at all
10) Unfortunately Russia is quite racist country, so if u looks different from locals, or even u wear strange clothes - u can get into trouble, depend of ur karma, of course
😍
11) Pls learn Russian alphabet - it's very useful, coze very few names of places have English spelling, especially in small cities
12) Most of big cities have metro, easy/faster to go around with it. Metro in Saint Petersburg &Moscow is the most beautiful &deep in a world
13) In museums, theaters & etc pretend that u r local or spouse of local to get local price (few times cheaper usually)
😍
14) Russian "I love u" sounds more or less like "yellow blue bus" - "Ya lublu vas".
+ Learn at least another 10 Russian words to survive: eat, sleep, free, right, left, straight, here, can, and so on. Choose really useful one!
😍
15) Free walking tours are available in big cities like Moscow&Petersburg
😍
16)If you're looking for a speaker of English in a crowd, try your luck with hipster-looking people. Avoid guys wearing weird beanies and other kinds of sportswear. Don't expect employees in shops, post offices, stations etc. to be polite to you
:)
17) 1 week in the longest Transibirian train 'll cost u only 100$

Дополняйте список, мои русские друзья!
