REALLY good fanvids I intend to favorite when YouTube works again.
So, of course, as soon as YouTube's favoriting feature is glitched, I run into half a dozen amazing K/S fanvids (really, astonishingly amazing), none of which I've run into before. (I was looking for Voyager fanvids, and one recommended vid led to another... yeeah.) So here they are, all titled by the songs they use:
Crazy by Gnarls Barkley (sp?) - The best of the fanvids I've run into tonight, arguably.
I Like It Rough by Lady Gaga - XI, Gods, I love this song so much. Obvs. The point of the song (or one possible point of the song - it could also be that the singer is being converted into the realm of the vanilla, I'm guessing) is that one of the two partners doesn't like it rough, ofc, but the thought of Jim or Spock not bein' kinky is depressing, so I'm totally going with this vidder's interpretation of the song.
Baby, it's cold outside by Margaret Whiting - TOS, This is so fucking perfect. I'm no good with voices, but the guy's speech patterns are spot-on seduction-mode Jim. And I can just imagine Spock, Mr. "I was attempting to avoid the appearance of favoritism", being all "Logically, causing my father vascular distress is not a constructive use of my time. Also, Uhura is a filthy gossip."
When I'm 64 by the Beatles - TOS&XI, I've seen other K/S vids to this song, and they were shit. This, however, is fucking beautiful. It uses both XI and the other movies to gorgeous and fluffy effect.
Hope it Gives you Hell by All-American Rejects - XI, Again, I've seen other vids to this song, but this thing is perfect. Also, it has hysterical Pike/Spock subtext at one point, and that pairing is rapidly becoming my off-ship for situations where Jim is a dick. Such as this one.
My Boyfriend's Back by some fantastic male singer I don't know of - XI, Technically "Kirk/McCoy(/Spock)", but so fucking hilarious I don't care. This is fantastic. This is beautiful. This is Sparta. Or something. I think McCoy might be the one singing, but it could be Jim. Spock's the boyfriend, though. Srsly, though, this makes much humor out of all the issues inherent in this series's OT3.
Boyfriend by someone - XI, Tug-of-war between Jim and Uhura. The Vulcan in the middle seems a little amused, possibly. If Vulcans had emotions.
