The problem with reading fanfic about characters you're not attracted to...
The problem with reading fanfic about characters you're not attracted to, particularly when you have a relatively horrible imagination, is that you don't really care about what a character looks like. You care about personalities.
I really, really wanna find some Quark/Odo slash. I have found two stories in about an hours' searching. I may give up.
(I have this same problem with stories about characters like Peter Pettigrew or Dudley Dursley. They're irreparably ugly - unlike Snape, who fanfucks can mutilate into being "pretty" - and therefore have no fic. Also, most people don't seem to share my fascination with jerks. Gah. Ugh.)
On the other hand, while I find Jadzia intensely hot, I'm not sure Jadzia/Worf fic is gonna portray her nicely. I can't conjure up faces very well. The fic would have to stand on its own even without Her Majesty the Most Attractive Television Character Possibly Short of Sue Sylvester Herself. Actually, They're Equals. Which Is Amazing.
