Kannazuki no Miko~!
I just finished watching Kannazuki no Miko. It now joins Fruits Basket on the "Anime That Made LaLa Cry" list. Chikane/Himeko! ;_;
First of all, the yuri. Oh, my God that was so well done despite not seeming like it would have been at all. When Chikane was depressed because Himeko was off with Souma, I cried. When Chikane went insane and raped Himeko and both of them went crazy, I cried. When Chikane confessed to Himeko, I cried. When the two were parted, I cried. When they were reunited after the credits, I cried. Their relationship made me cry, and it also made me squee like a mad thing when they were happy together.
The love triangle was well done up until the point when Chikane disappeared and Himeko flat out refused Souma. I understand that Himeko loved Chikane, but that just seemed...off... Even if Himeko loved her, the fact that Chikane's existance was wiped off the face of the planet (Even the pictures! I had to admit that Himeko look psychotic standing in those pictures alone while looking as if she was speaking to an invisible person) and that Himeko did love Souma at one point just... Buh. Without Chikane there, those two would have ended up together, so I was a bit displeased how they just tossed Souma to the side like that... I mean, they could have at least hooked him up with Yukihito. It's obviouse that the boy wants to get into his pants. >_>'
Otoha, as jealous as she was, turned out to be a Very Good Thing. I feel sorry for her, though...
The Orochi were awesome. Tsubasa so has a brother complex. Reiko knows what she's talking about. was sexy, but a bit scary at times. Miyako was...guh. I loved her for some unknown reason. Nekoko was creepy as hell, though. O_o
At first, I thought the mix of mecha/sci-fi/fantasy/romance was not going to work. I was wrong. It felt like a crossover of doom at times, but it all worked out very nicely in the end.
I LOVE THE MUSIC. I NEED AN OST LIKE RIGHT NOW. AND I NEED MORE OF KOTOKO'S MUSIC.
And, finally, the plot. Oh, what a nice plot. It was slow in the beginning, but once Chikane went insane and all those little pieces fell into place... ♥ LOVE.
