Quick weekend recap
Saturday was Kingdom 12th Night. We went as Baron and Baroness and learnt more about our job. We need to always pack our presence. Our Baronial presence (thrones, banners, etc) needs work.
We had fun, both volunteering for jobs at the event. I helped to marshal the tourney and CG sold tickets for the bar etc. We were really proud that our small number of Baronial members helped out in many jobs but especially at the front gate (troll) and selling bar tickets. Someone joked upon entering seeing all of these Rising Waters people working, 'I didn't know this was a Rising Waters event' ;)
Thanks to marimarimac for playing with L so much outside with the toboggan, ice rink and hay rides.
We sat head table for a very nice feast. L found a family with young children who were eating off board to dine with instead of sitting with her care giver at the feast proper. It all worked out well.
I was pleased to see TH Lord Bjarn win the tourney. He has really stepped up his game and it showed. He was thrilled to receive a prize that included a chest previously owned by the late Count Sarnac.
It was good but long day (5 hours of driving round trip).
Sunday saw my girls leave for 10 days to visit in the USA. I miss them much more than I thought. After they left I got some more sleep and then started to clean up the house. I was not very efficient but the laundry is all washed and dried and the dish washer has been emptied and reloaded, floors swept, garbage etc, out and the car unloaded from the event.
I went to the Baronial fight practice but no one else showed up with armour. Darn. I really need the practice. So my 30 minutes of exercise was a walk around the village listening to Quirks and Quarks on my iPod.
I have heard from my ex-wife Sharyl that her Father, Roger, is dying. I like Roger but the last time I saw him he cursed me so I have not been keen on seeing him again. Okay afraid to see him again. Still tomorrow I am going to go out and see him.
Well I have stayed up way too late looking at the internet so I had better go to bed.
