Do you have a bunch of woodoworking tools to cut the wood into tiles, or is there perhaps a wood shop on campus? It looks like if I want to be a Rosenfeld practical-archaeology fangirl, I have to get my carpentry skills up to par.
I used to have a pyrography set, but it stayed in the US when I came to Canada. Otherwise, it would be at your service : (
