Turn off the TV week
Happy Turn Off The TV Week!
Yes, this is the same banner from last year. I am just that busy / lazy.
Well, after my somewhat successful Lent foray into writing in the journal every day, it is once again Turn off the TV week! It's almost caught me by surprise. Today (Monday) was technically the first day, which I did not realize because the website has the incorrect dates on their website.
This, I believe, is the fourth year I will be observing turn off the tv week-- I started in 2007. Clearly it's something worthwhile enough to repeat!
Like past years I remember, I have a GREAT deal of work to do in the next week. So I probably won't be doing much besides working for the entire week... but it could be worse.
So here is what I am allowing myself to do on the computer:
doing homework or studying online (of course)
reading the newspaper online
updating my livejournal (but not reading my friends list)
checking the weather & dictionary.com
Listening to the radio/audio books
I would like to list all of the other splendid ways I will spend my time, like I usually do every year, but I have so much work, I should not be thinking about those things right now.
Here is what I have to remind myself not to do, though, to put off until next week:
Reading LJ friends list
Checking my larkspur email address
Listening to those missing episode commentaries from Trick of the Mind 1 that I just downloaded from Derren Brown's blog
Reading the DB blog
Reading twitter, twittering, talking to new twitter friends, etc.
I will be giving myself leave to write in this journal, so I'll probably be posting frequently. Ta ta!
