Mmm, I love how it's like, 7:30pm, but I still feel like I have the whole day ahead of me because it doesn't get dark for another 3 hours.

Tomorrow Stacia and I are driving up to the North Slope! I am SO FUCKING EXCITED, the drive is supposed to be absolutely incredible with mountains and wildlife and the most beautiful everything ever. We spent the better part of the day picking up last minute supplies in Fairbanks and packing the truck. We leave tomorrow at 10am.

James left two nights ago to attend a nerdy bio conference in Portland, OR, so I'm all alone in his house since his housemate is never here. The lonliness/isolation was almost a little too much yesterday...I went out for a 7 hour training course then came back and just sort of puttered around all evening. It was weird being in the middle of the woods with no visible houses around and not having talked to or seen a familiar face all day...the lonliness especially intensified after a whole week of recieving a plethora of delightful attention from James. I love attention. Hardly anyone ever pays any attention to me. *cue tiny violin*

Speaking of attention, my precious Viktor has evidently sent me a letter! He actually told me about this letter like, a month and a half ago but I never recieved it and assumed it lost in the mail. Not suprising with the percentage of my mail the Danish postal system has screwed up. So it's finally come! Now my dad has to forward it. I can't wait. ;>

Okay, I lied, people pay attention to me. It's just always people who live a billion miles away. I have my sister and the RISD posse + Meg, at least 5 people in Denmark who make an outward effort to keep in touch (including Torben who wants me to like, marry him or something. I wouldn't even consider it unless he got rid of the pig farm...I can't be with someone who smells like pigs all the time), and of course my mom and dad and dogs and Ed. And Tuttle. And my friend Meghan. And Nozomi. And Gayle.

...and speaking of all those people, I miss you!
