Another week gone by...haven't accomplished much but I have been keeping busy. I subbed the past three days, twice at the middle school and at the high school today. Nothing much eventful, just the usual expected boredom. No one has called me about going in tomorrow, but you never know...it's the worst when they call at 5am.

Raven-job-on-the-north-slope-of-Alaska lady emailed me reassurance that she really wants me for the position...but as it hasn't been officially posted yet, I haven't been able to officially apply, so I'm still a bit anxious. I don't know if I should worry about looking for other stuff just in case, or just be lazy on the confidence that I'll get this one. Really, I'm quite qualified. I was one of the 'finalists' for it last year, and by now I've had nearly 3 years of ornithological field experience, so I'd think I'm pretty desireable. Banding? check. Bleeding? check. Telemetry? check. The list goes on...I don't need to bore you with the details. Unless you want them, in which case I can proudly post my resume. It is quite extensive, indeed. Anyway, it would really just be nice to have it all solidified so I can say for sure that I'm getting the heck out of here in no more than two months; I'll sub just enough to pay for gear and my plane ticket and then I'll go make heaps of money, come back, do wetland surveys with Hyla, make more heaps of money, and in the fall visit my friends in Denmark, maybe see a couple people I know in southern France. If I'm REAL lucky I'll have enough left over to work on some volunteer field job in Asia, maybe Thailand or Vietnam, hopefully work all the way through March so I don't have to come back again for the fucking New England winter. Theeeen, I suppose another field job, and in the fall I'll go to grad school (which somewhere along the way I have applied for). Ta-da! Sounds great. Probably won't happen just like that, but, whatevs. I usually end up pleased with how things turn out...the future is just so exciting.

Well, the next year of my life aside, Laura and I are likely doing a little New England road trip next week during her break. We've got a cousin in Conneticut, I have a friend in New York, and of course our whole posse in Western Mass, including the elusive Molly.

I've just about gotten over super-hot lesbo dance partner Ma-ri-ah...took me a whole five days. Ukranian Viktor I am still pining for. But really, the ones I want the most are the ones I know I can't have. It's safer that way.

Oh and p.s., I saw Brokeback Mountain with my mom this evening. Yeah, it's a little akward watching a gay sex scene with your mom, but all in all we both really enjoyed it (I mean, not just the sex scene, but the whole movie). And Jake is so cute!! XD
