I love this! Especially Eddie, yes, because I am a man of predictable tastes, and I really do adore his role in this, being so calm and diplomatic in dealing with all these fractious kids about the place. Your Babe and Leyden are perfect too - both difficult characters to get right, and your descriptions of them made me smile the whole way through.

I'm also starting to think that if the mood ever takes you, I'd love to see some flashback fic for this 'verse about when the guys were all still in the Corps. I mean, if Leyden's hard enough to manage now, it's worse when he's armed and dangerous...

I figure Eddie, with all his siblings, couins, and then Marines, can't help but be Mr. Mom. It's basically his default response and second nature. I'm still working on getting Leyden down in terms of tone/voice/background (he's so much bravado, but there's more to him, obvs, so I'm trying to work out his character in my head).

There will def. be some flashback fic to that era. So far all that's been posted is two ficlets with Snafu and Burgie in Oceanside, but I def. plan on writing a bit more in that era of backstory.

In the many K Co. reunion fics I've started in this 'verse, a cental part is Leyden and Snafu working together to drive Babe (and by proxy Spina) insane. Which means, when Babe finally figures out the pull Jay has over Leyden? He makes it his mission to become Jay's new best friend.
