Pairings: Wufei and Relena are in denial, but if you look carefully you'll find hints of 1+Sylvia, Hilde+Dorothy and a 2/3/Dorothy . . . shape.
Warnings: Let's just say that this is the general nonsense you'll come to expect from the Wannabe Shinigami
Disclaimers: Do I LOOK Japanese? . . . No, I don't. Trust me. Therefore I own nothing mentioned here unless otherwise indicated, and ain't nothing indicated here. For entertainment purposes only; IT DIDN'T REALLY HAPPEN!
Relena was mixing cookie dough when her phone rang. She tripped over Marma on her way to the phone, almost dumped her dough all over the floor and hit her shoulder against the wall as she ran into it.
Conveniently, though, the phone fell right against her ear.
"H, hello?"
"Are you all right?"
"Wufei!" She smiled and watched Marma chase her tail. "I'm fine. What are you doing?"
"Spending my day off chasing down Meiching's latest batch of kittens. Yourself?"
"Oh, some friends are over for the night. We're going to order out Chinese and watch chick flicks."
There was silence on the other end. Finally, "You're going to what?"
"Order Chinese and watch---"
"Order? Order out? Fast-food?" He didn't sound too pleased.
Relena rolled her eyes and danced around Marma on her way to the cookie sheets on the stove. "Yes, fast-food."
"I forbid it."
That made Relena groan in frustration. "What? Wufei---"
"The so-called 'Chinese' food that fast-food restaurants spew out is not true Chinese food," he said self-righteously. "I shall come over and make you real Chinese food."
It wouldn't have been as shocking a proposal had Wufei been anywhere near Germany. As it was, he was still in America. Relena clenched her teeth and took a deep breath. "Wufei, I appreciate the offer,
but---"
"It wasn't an offer. It was a statement of definite intent. I'll be there in three hours."
"Three hours? You and who's super jet?"
"Mine," he said, as if she should have known all along.
"You have a jet that can get you here in three hours."
"Of course."
Speechless was about the right word. Unfortunately, it gave Wufei the opportunity to keep talking.
"Don't even think of ordering out," he told her. "Just wait."
There certainly wasn't any arguing with him in this mood. Relena just sighed the sigh of the long-suffering and called back when Dorothy called from the living room for the Chinese place's number, "Don't call! Wufei's coming over to make us real Chinese food!"
"I don't like your sarcasm," he growled.
"Wufei's in Trinidad!" was what Sylvia yelled.
"He doesn't care!"
"That's true love!" Hilde hollered, and that statement was followed by shrieks of laughter.
Relena leaned her forehead against the wall and groaned softly. "I think I'll kill them."
"Wait until I'm there."
"We'll starve in three hours."
"No, you won't. Just wait." The phone went dead and Relena hung it up.
Then the thought occured to her that she didn't know why he'd initially called her. Ah, well. She'd find out sooner or later.
Two and a half hours later found Relena, Hilde, Dorothy, and Sylvia collapsed on the floor in an exhausted heap, pillows laying all around, some set up like forts. It was the end result of the pillow-fight that had been the direct result of the teasing Relena had gotten after she'd come back into the living room.
Relena was resting her head on Sylvia's stomach when the sound of a jet outside made her raise her head.
"Boyfriend's here," Dorothy snickered.
"Shut up," Relena said as she rolled over and got to her feet, stumbling to the window to watch Wufei land. The other three women followed her.
"Wow," Sylvia murmured. "I wish I had a man who owned his own super-jet."
Relena, Dorothy and Hilde looked at each other and smiled. None of them mentioned that Heero had his own jet, too.
"Go out and greet him," Dorothy urged with a nudge.
"I think he can find his own way in," she grumbled, glaring at her friend.
True enough, a few minutes later there was a knock at the front door.
"I've got it!" all four women screamed at the top of their lungs as Pargan appeared at a side door. He wisely stepped back and let them rush the door, slamming into it and fighting to get it open.
When they finally got the door open, Hilde, Dorotyh and Sylvia took off to the living room again, laughing. It left a flushed Relena and wary-looking Wufei watching each other.
"Too much caffeine, too little food," Relena said. "You're early."
"I see. It is advisable to always be early."
"Why are you still standing there?"
"You haven't invited me in."
He would fly halfway around the world just to make her real Chinese food, but he wouldn't come in until she invited him? "Vampire," she accused. "Get in."
Wufei walked in with narrowed eyes and glanced into the living room. Relena's friends ducked out of sight with giggles. He sniffed derisively and followed Relena into the kitchen, setting the grocery bags in his arms down on the counter.
"Now go play with your friends and wait until I call you."
Relena raised an eyebrow at being sumarily dismissed from her own kitchen but she did as she was told, launching herself at Hilde as the young woman opened her mouth.
"Don't say a damn thing*!" she told Hilde.
Hilde had a pillow over her face, so all she could really do was flail around.
Dorothy and Sylvia were holding each other, laughing so hard they were crying. Relena started laughing, too, rolling off of Hilde and eeping as Hilde lay her head on her stomach.
"This looks like a bad lesbian porn," Wufei noted from the doorway. All it did was make the women laugh even harder.
"And you watch bad lesbian porn?" Dorothy gasped out.
"No, but I'm sure you* do. Where are your spices?"
Dorothy and Hilde raised their hands and Wufei blinked at them. "They're the sugar, we're the spice," Hilde said as she pat Relena's breast and pointed at Sylvia.
"That's my breast!" Relena squealed.
"Really? Doesn't feel like it." Hilde put her hand back and squeezed, earning herself another squeal and a wriggle, and laughed. "Oh, okay, it is your boob."
"Heh, boob," Dorothy snickered. "You said boob."
"Second cupboard to the right of the stove," Relena told Wufei before he blew a gasket.
"Thank you," he gritted out before leaving again.
Feminine laughter accompanied him.

It was half an hour later when they were permitted into the kitchen. They'd gotten through the first ten minutes of "Kate and Leopold" when Wufei brought them out their food, carefully doled out onto Relena's good china, with chopsticks and tea in more of Relena's good china.
"That's my good china!" she almost yelled.
Wufei blinked at her calmly. "All the better to eat authentic Chinese food on. I put your cookies in the oven as well, by the way."
"My cookies?! You snooped through my fridge?!"
"Oooh, her cookies," Dorothy snickered to Hilde.
"Scandalous," Hilde murmured back.
"You left the fridge open," Wufei said crossly as he sat down on the floor next to Relena, his own plate in hand. "What are you watching?"
"'Kate and Leopold.' It's a chick flick. No action, no car chases, nothing blows up. It's girly. You wouldn't like it," Dorothy said as she turned the movie back on.
"Don't assume you know what I---"
"Quiet!" four women hissed at him.
Wufei shut up.
***
They'd watched 'Kate and Leopold,' 'What Women Want,' 'Sleepless in Seattle,' 'American Sweethearts' and were fifteen minutes into 'Sweet Home Alabama' when Wufei finally turned the TV off. All the food had been eaten, all the soda consumed, all the cookies gobbled down and, or so he hoped, all the tears cried. That left Wufei with four weepy, sniffly-nosed women passed out on the floor around him. Dorothy and Hilde were curled around each other (the occasional murmuring of Trowa or Duo's name from Dorothy and Dorothy's name from Hilde), Sylvia was hugging a pillow to her chest at the foot of the couch, and Relena was curled up against his side, her head resting on his shoulder and her arms clutching his right arm.
Wufei looked down at her blearily and wiped at his eyes. Maybe he could get away . . . His hopes were crushed when Relena shifted, holding his arm tighter and rubbing her cheek against his shoulder. It just wasn't right to fall asleep like this . . .
The doorbell rang as Wufei was nodding off, then he heard quiet laughter. Wufei looked up to see Trowa, Duo and Heero standing in the doorway, laughing.
"What do you want?" he grouched at them.
"Our woman," Duo and Trowa responded.
"To laugh at you," Heero said.
"Fuck off," Wufei growled. "I'm tired as all hell."
"Are you touching Relena?" Heero asked with a hint of menace in his voice.
"Damn right I am. Next time tell the leech not to fall asleep and use me as a pillow. Get her off of me, will you?"
Heero ignored him and crouched by Sylvia, tilting his head as his smile turned to the mushy side of soft. He brushed a lock of hair out of her face and tucked the blankets around her more firmly.
Duo and Trowa laughed again as they detangled Dorothy from Hilde, much to Hilde's muttered protests. Dorothy blinked up at the two and her face broke into the most genuine smile Wufei had ever seen her
give. Curled in Trowa's arms, she grabbed Duo's braid and held it close to her chest, humming idly to herself as they said goodbye to Heero and Wufei and took her away.
"How long have they been out?" Heero asked quietly, still watching Sylvia.
"Five, five and a half hours."
"I'll take her upstairs," Heero said softly. He gathered Sylvia gently in her arms, the look on his face almost painfully raw when she curled toward his chest and smiled.
"Does she even know who you are?" Wufei asked.
"We met during the war," Heero said. "And we've met a few times since." He turned and walked out the room.
That left Relena and Hilde. Well, Hilde could get herself to bed. Wufei maneuvered himself around until he could slide one arm under Relena's knees and got the other arm around her back, then he lifted slowly. Once that was accomplished he followed Heero upstairs, looking for her room. Relena shifted and threw her arms around his neck, breathing softly against it. It made Wufei shudder and he tried to move his shoulder so her head would move, but it wasn't working.
With a soft growl, he pushed open a door. Luck was with him; it was Relena's room. He plunked the sleeping woman on her bed, then removed her shoes and got her under the covers and tucked in. She rolled over, facing him, and smiled as she murmured nonsense to herself in her sleep.
Wufei paused, then a slight smiled crossed his lips. He leaned down and gave Relena a soft kiss on the forehead before walking out of the room.

::Howls in victory:: I am the MAN!
P.S. For those who care, Trinidad is a small, picturesque (and I do mean picturesque) town in northern Humboldt County, which is on the coast of northern California, approximately a stone's throw from the Oregon border. It's a good forty-five minutes to an hour away from my own hometown. W00T, Humboldt pride, and all that.
I'm sleepy.
