This Is Goodbye
"How!"
I winced.
"Tell me how? How did this happen. Tell me!" She screamed. "How!"
I sat there staring at the floor everything was coming apart. The truth....fuck. How could I tell her that it was all a lie, that this marriage was a mistake, that my thoughts weren't all about her anymore. Or that my heart no longer belonged to her. "Sian," I finally said softly.
"Tell me how long has this been going on behind my back Sophie."
I closed my eyes and thought back to everything that had happened the last few months. "Well how long Sophie? How long have you been fucking her?"
I looked up at her then and saw my beautiful Sian red with anger shaking my head, "No Sian it's not like that."
"Oh please, she's a slut Sophie, everyone knows it. So tell me how ago did it start hmmm? Was it after all those heart to hearts you had in the shop!? Did you kiss her, then pin her up against the counter and fuck her Sophie? She asked.
I shoke my head, "No Sian please..."
"Please what? Forgive you? You said you loved me Soph, told me that it was forever infront of our families and god. And it was all a lie, everything!"
"No Sian," I begged jumping up from my seat I grabbed her hands pulling her towards me. "It wasn't all a lie Sian. I still lo...."
"Save it Soph, I don't want to hear it. You cheated, you lied, and you broke my heart," she cried. I looked back up at her face and saw the tears that I cause stream down her cheeks.
"I'm sorry," I whispered.
"I love you Soph," she whispered as she sniffled. "But I can never forgive you."
My head fell back down to look at our hands still gripping each others. I felt my own tears start to fall as she pulled away from me, reaching out I whispered, "No.|
"Goodbye Sophie," she said.
Looking up I pleaded one final time for her to stay. But she shook her head kissed my cheek and whispered one finally time. "Goodbye my sweet Sophie."
And was gone.
