Pokemon Team Post

Although technically the leader of Team Magma, this universe's Maxie is in possession of several Water types Archie has given him. Likewise, Archie has several Fire types that Maxie has given to him. Though his team is largely the same, the age difference as well as the alternate universe factor has led to several changes. Due to the apocalypse being on his doorstep, he's used a lot of TMs and poured a lot of work into his main team, leaving a sizable level gap between his main team and the Pokemon in his PC.

The Rapidash, Crobat and Milotic were crucial to him when traveling, as Hoenn has the most in sheer variety of weather and environment. Both Team Magma and Team Aqua are traveling on foot to defend the region, and as such everyone has adjusted their team line ups accordingly to facilitate as much ease of travel as they can. It is commonly understood among the ranks of both teams that your line up of Pokemon is forever. Breeding is only done for the sake of movesets, and TMs are regularly used and switched to keep moves active that their enemies aren't expecting. Maxie is also much more willing to take risks in combat than Archie, adhering to a Glass Cannon strategy of speed and attacks being his major focus. This has both backfired and come in handy over the course of his misadventures so far.

Milotic was a gift from Archie when it was a Feebas, two years ago when they were just random guys dreaming of a better world. Maxie has less than stellar control over Groudon, which means it's an emergency only Pokemon that you will hardly ever see in battle. Mightyena and Camerupt were his starters originally, Numel being his first Pokemon he got from his parents, and Poochyena the first he ever caught. The Rapidash was a gift from a Trainer from the Kanto region who was dying of injuries inflicted by Team Sky. It is a distrustful, sometimes spiteful Pokemon that has a habit of disobeying its new owner.
