I think we're going to RenFest tomorrow! :) Hopefully hopefully. I need me some Ded Bob.
I have no idea what I'm going to wear or what the weather'll be like. Or how I'm going to do my makeup. I'm leaning more towards faerie-thing right now though. Will take and post pics, if I remember to!
I had...the strangest dream last night. Nate and I were trying to break into some building..It was futuristic in appearance, sort of round, with open floors like balconies, and it was covered in armed guards, who had already noticed us when I 'entered' the dream, so to speak. Nate and I were armed with bows and arrows, and we were shooting up at them and ducking their return shots, but it was only a matter of time before we were overtaken..
When out of nowhere the Senegal's Finest come to the rescue! ....
Well, I thought they were. And at first, it really did seem like they were all backup. They took out a few of the guards, but then turned their swords and arrows on us.
I'm not sure when exactly the fight turned into a Dagorhir battle, but it did. And somewhere in the back of my mind, I knew that something had shifted in the dream. But my arrows were still lethal. And I shot them anyway.
I distinctly remember Kristoff (sp?) standing out in the crowd of fighters, directing them..so I set my sights on him. I shot arrow after arrow, and they bounced off of him just as normal padded Dag legal arrows might have. But he wouldn't take his hits. At this point in the fray, the guards had taken the field, but I didn't know who was friend and who foe, so I was trying to kill anyone who came close enough to hit. I had lost Nate in the chaos.
I remember being very angry that no one was taking hits, and I remember being struck in the head with someone else's arrow and going down, but I blacked out. Or maybe I closed my eyes because I was supposed to, I'm not sure. When I came to, everyone was smiling and laughing, and gathering up weapons. Everyone except for me.
And then some big ugly bitch was in my face. If you play Dagorhir, you know what I mean. One of those "I've been playing for two months and that must make me a vet" type women. She was yelling because apparently I had blown off a rock hit. She claimed, in the dream, that the rock had struck me in the side of the head and caught on fire, and that was immediate death and why didn't I take it?
At first I wanted to argue with her, but the I realized we were playing a vastly different form of Dagorhir than the one I'm used to. I realized that somewhere along the line, the game had changed and I hadn't noticed. The rules were different. I dismissed the thought and the argument and apologized. I told her I must not have felt the hit. She didn't forgive me, so I walked away.
I wanted to gather up my arrows for the next round, but before I could find any, Kristoff was in my face, yelling something about how they weren't my arrows to touch. Apparently the rules HAD changed, and once an arrow was loosed, it didn't belong to you anymore. I thought it was bullshit. I kept shifting through the pile, looking for any sign that the arrows might belong to me (none of them looked very familiar), and he continued to get in my face about it. He kept saying something about a meeting, where the rules of the event had been discussed, and if I had missed that meeting it was my own fault I had no arrows.
I snapped at him. Something along the lines of "Why isn't there a sheet around here with all these new rules?" and walked away.
Walked through a glass door, into a hallway. (At some point I realized I wasn't outside at all, but rather in a very large Dagorhir arena.) I stomped off down the hallway, not knowing where I was or where I was headed and not caring. I know Nate caught up to me and tried to explain to me that the rules weren't that hard to adjust to if I'd just give them a chance, but I got mad at him, too. Traitor. He didn't seem nearly as confused as I was. And I was out quite a few arrows.
It continued from there, but nothing was very substantial, and Nate woke me up before anything ended. (As usual.)
And now I'm going to go look at garb. Later.
