(no subject)
I suppose this update is slightly past due, but I've been busy and stuff. Classes are going pretty well. I'm doing much better than last semester anyway. I have clinicals this semester at St. Joes Hospital on the oncology unit. It should be a good experience but also slightly distressing. On the first day of clinical my patient was a women with leukemia that probably had about 2-3 months left to live. It's definitely different than clinicals from last year where I was at a rehab hospital and people were getting better and being sent home on a regular basis. But I suppose this is just something that every nursing student or nurse has to go through. Plus,I've already gotten to push an IV med, hang an IV med, give another subcutaneous injection, and give about 25 oral meds to the same person all due at the same time. It was a little stressful but really very experiential. So now that that has been said...
Now I know that I tend to use my livejournal to vent/complain about the annoyances of life and I tell myself every time, "my next entry will be cheerful!" Well, I've decided it's useless to try and write an entire entry without once mentioning some little trivial aggravation. With that said, I'll continue with my complaints. In the past two weeks my cell phone, printer, computer, blow dryer, and car have all either malfunctioned, made funny abnormal noises, or just broke altogether. It really is slightly hunerus actually. I'm just waiting for my camera to explode or something.
This has been one of the most banal entries I have ever written and I apologize for the boring content of it all. I have to go watch a flag football game now and try and find a man... but most likely not.
