Hi everyone! It's been a tough month. Crazy things are happening all over the world, work has been kicking my butt, and my allergies are making me miserable. But there are good things going on too. I've watched some great movies and I'm watching the Tempest tmr with friends. I have a job and my family and a hot chocolate sitting next to my keyboard. I hope everyone is staying warm (or cool) and having a great week. ♥

a) Stand fast in your enchantments by devildoll, art by rahciach (Teen Wolf AU, Derek/Stiles, NC17) - Stiles knew damn well what a pissed-off wolf sounded like, and every hair on the back of his neck was telling him that somewhere in this room was a very pissed-off werewolf." An AU in which Derek is feral, Stiles is magical, and they eat a lot of fast food. Just about everyone has read this by now, I think, but just in case you haven't, drop everything and read this today. Everything about this is beautiful and the ART *____* kjaslkfdja Also, fantastic, believable plot and a slow build to die for. 70K of devildoll fic, c'mon, you know you want to...
b) Tiny houses by ohmyjetsabel (Teen Wolf, Derek/Stiles, NC17) - So this is what Stiles does. He lies in Scott’s bed and waits for Melissa to say she’s found someone to get it out of him, to cure him of the wrongness and the bad, and he dreams. Possibly the best mpreg fic I've ever read. Long and plotty and the best kind of hurts so good angst. Heed the warnings.
c) about the mirror and its pieces by siria (Teen Wolf, gen, Derek/Stiles) - This wasn't how Stiles had expected to spend his Spring Break. I really loved the intertwining of mythology and the TW verse and the fairy tale feel of the story. This is beautiful.
d) Radio silence series by febricant (Teen Wolf, Derek/Stiles) - Derek’s still looking at him like he’s never seen him before. Hell, maybe he hasn’t. There’s certainly fewer layers over his core than there used to be, stripped off gradually with the last of his awkwardness. Hurts so good. *happy sigh*
e) Those kisses when it's all done, that's what I'm doing it for by toraten (Teen Wolf, Derek/Stiles, NC17) - "If this is where you tell me that we've been nothing more than friends all this time, I'm going to crash this car into a tree," Stiles breathes out. "That's not what I was going to say." I really enjoyed this; I liked the author's style and I loved the relationship build. This is my favorite Derek/Stiles dynamic, where they're both flawed, they both act like asses sometimes, and they struggle to make it work, bickering the whole way.
f) lead me back by nighimpossible (Teen Wolf, gen) - Derek comes home for his brother in arms. Also, fire nymphs. Awesome genfic with A+++ dialogue.
g) The next level is real by rashaka (Teen Wolf, Allison/Derek, NC17) - By the time Allison Argent's life went insane and she saw her aunt torturing a naked man in the world's scariest basement, she was already that most uncommon of species: a bona fied teenage female gamer. It wouldn't have surprised a counselor to see that as the danger in Allison's life escalated and the pillars of her world crumbled, her investment in Bright Legends and its social microcosm escalated. YES YES YES YES
h) fell down on my knees by nighimpossible (Teen Wolf AU, gen) - Chris and Allison run from Beacon Hills for as long as they can: but no matter how far they flee from their dark pasts, there's no resisting the siren song of home. This is canon adjacent and terrifying, because it could so easily have been reality. This is brutal and jam-packed with emotion and yearning.
i) i bet santa gets five bars by candidlily (Avengers, Clint/Darcy) - Darcy and Clint work out spending their first Christmas together. My darling friend C wrote this for me and it is the Most Charming and adorable; perfect banter, perfect characterization, perfect amount of fluff + snark. Thank you so much, bb! ♥
j) Buddy system by kellifer_fic (Avengers, Clint/Darcy) - Why must you make me do these things? Kel wrote me this super delightful fic with jealousy and snark; it's like she knows me or something. ;) Thank you, Kel!!! ♥♥
k) Hitch a ride on the back of a butterfly by torakowalski (Avengers AU, Clint/Coulson) - When Loki attacks SHIELD and brainwashes Clint Barton, Phil Coulson’s first priority is to get their daughter to safety. After that, there's just leading the ground defence against the Chitauri, organising a group of brand new SHIELD recruits into a workable army, and learning to work with Tony Stark. (Female!Phil AU.) BAMF Coulson + a kickass, believable Darcy. YES <3
l) The Butterfingers G.D.I. Stark guide to problem solving by epiphanyx7 (Avengers, gen) - Tony begins to notice that things are going missing from his workshop... and discovers that his bots have been hiding a very, very big secret from him. Or rather, a very, very small one I missed this delightful fic last year, but better late than never. This was too adorable for words.
m) By any other name by liannabob (Avengers/Hansel & Gretel, gen, bg Clint/Coulson) - A Clint/Hansel mindswap fic AMAZING. Great characterizations, A+++++ fusion, believably aligns with canon, all in one long, plotty fic. <3
n) Coulson's Eleven by copperbadge (Avengers AU, gen) - After Vanko destroyed the Stark Expo, SHIELD instituted a Superhuman Detention program, designed to capture and hold dangerous people -- dangerous people like Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, and others who made themselves noticeable. The superhumans SHIELD has imprisoned -- and some SHIELD agents themselves -- have other ideas about what constitutes 'dangerous'... Super satisfying read, plus, it's copperbadge, you know it's going to be good.
o) Darcy Lewis, Agent of HYDRA by margo_kim (Thor AU, Darcy/Loki) - It's the classic story of boy meets girl, boy likes girl, boy breaks into girl's secret evil underground base and interrupts her security patrol to ask her on a date--where the boy is more than a thousand years old and reluctantly good, and the girl is a disgraced former undercover agent and increasingly ambivalent about the bureaucracy of being evil. A slightly different take on Darcy, who remains, as always, the Most Awesome.
p) Incendiary vices and a filthy never mind by nicalyse (Avengers, Bucky/Natasha, NC17) - In a mess of unknowns, there is a certainty, one thing that has become clear since they began working together again: She wants him. Super hot PWP.
q) A wooden edge by ias (Thor, gen) - No warrior is born knowing how to swing a sword. But some do learn better than others. Genfic that focuses on Sif and Frigga? YES PLEASE
r) Heroes by quigonejinn (Pacific Rim AU, Chuck/Mako/Raleigh, Herc/Stacker) - Raleigh Becket is a registered Companion. A+++++ amazing Pacific Rim/Firefly fusion. My reaction to this fic was lots of screaming and flailing, which is the only logical reaction to the idea of Raleigh as a Companion, obviously. And there's a companion/sequel fic, Take the sky, written by saellys. ETA: This is now a series full of heartbreak and stellar worldbuilding with generous drizzles of awesomesauce on top.
s) Oblivisci by tea-diva (Generation Kill AU, Brad/Nate) - The strength of a spell is magic fused with intent. Bind intent with enough magic and a spell can be cast even without a wand, without a single word being spoken; sometimes without the caster even knowing what he has done. People say all the time that you never forget your first love. Nate vowed that he never would. The question is, why did he? I adore HP fusions, and this one is seamless and all around well-written.
t) and that's why they call me [bad company] by postcardmystery (Generation Kill, Brad/Ray, NC17) - “I’m still smarter than you, dude,” he says to Brad, and Brad raises an eloquent eyebrow, but he doesn’t argue, because, yeah, Brad’s smart, but he’s smart enough to know what he’s not. They’re the same, that way, Ray guesses. Smartest guy in the platoon’s a corporal who can’t stop talking with milkshake smeared all over his face, covering scars a coffee maker left wrought on flesh scrubbed red-raw by sun and sand and (carefully ignored) sedition. You couldn’t make this shit up if you fucking tried. Postcard words; what are you waiting for?
u) A life(less) ordinary by foxxcub and carleton97 (Bourne Legacy, Aaron/Marta, NC17) - It's been nine months since the Philippines and though it feels like they've been on every island in the region, she's pretty sure neither one of them is quite secure enough to stop running. Two words for you: virginal Aaron. Enough said, methinks. *_________*
v) Beneath the ever-bending sky by leupagus (Hobbit AU, Bilbo/Thorin) - When Thorin summons the company to the Lesser Hall and Bilbo explains what she wants done, there is a long silence, followed by thunderous argument. “I suppose we shouldn’t have expected better,” Bilbo mutters as Óin and Dwalin bellow at each other. It’s typical, Thorin thinks, and is disgusted with himself for the rush of fondness he feels. Could not stop laughing. So very delightful and fun!!
w) On adventures and other forms of conduct unbecoming a wizard by manic_intent (Hobbit AU, Bilbo/Thorin, NC17) - For as long as even the old Gaffer could remember there had been a wizard living in the hill at Bag End, overlooking the Shire. As wizards went, this one wasn't the wandering sort, always out to lure gentle folk out onto nasty adventures, or even the powerful kind, the sort that lived in high towers, reaching out into the ways of the world. Bilbo as a wizard! AMAZING
