The past two weeks have been...well, kind of awful, honestly. But instead of focusing on that, here are some happier things.

2) I've started watching Veronica Mars with a group of my friends. It's my sister's favorite TV show but I've never seen more than a handful of random episodes from the latter two seasons because she enjoys watching them out of order specifically to confuse me. IT IS SO GOOD. Why this show did not attract more attention, I will never understand. The writing is excellent, the characters are all hella interesting, and it crosses genre boundaries like they don't even exist. BEST.
3) Less than one week till the Hobbit! And wow, how much must Peter Jackson have filmed if he decided at the last minute to break it into three parts and the first part is 3 hours long? \o/
4) Star Trek Deux teaser trailer omg omg omg
5) In my continuing quest to be ridiculous confound my enablers save my free time, I haven't watched any Teen Woof, but am still reading Teen Woof AU fics like it's my job. My TW tag on Pinboard went from 2 to 38 in less than a week (thank you, aliassmith and the_ragnarok). XD My favorite so far, besides the ones I recced last time, is this college AU where Stiles and Scott are pledges caught in a prank war with Derek's fraternity. I've read a TON of great things, but since all of them are crazy popular and most of you are already in the fandom, I don't think I need to rec the others, but if you're interested, my Pinboard is here. PS: if you have any TW AU recs, please feel free to share. :)
6) Recs:
a) An algorithm for mistakes by fleete (Teen Woof, Lydia/Stiles, NC17) - Lydia has a plan: attend college, study the biological makeup of werewolves, win prizes, and wear amazing shoes. She does not expect to make friends with Stiles. Or flirt with Stiles. Or accidentally start a pack war with Stiles. Whatever. The point is, Lydia has a plan. This fic (along with magneticwave's Beauty and the Beast and Argent twins AU) was my gateway fic, the one that convinced me to keep reading TW fic because it was AWESOME. I love Lydia's voice (I love everything about Lydia, really), and I wish this was a million words longer.
b) a pox on all your machines by scioscribe (Skyfall, Bond/Q) - “You’re an expert at the challenging, though. I have handled-personally, mind you-three double-O agents, and not one of them has been the exasperation that you so continuously prove. You don’t think. Someone who doesn’t think doesn’t deserve hot water.” Or, the one where Q controls the universe with technology and Bond is trying to avoid complications (like falling for the voice in his head). Charming and hilarious and all around wonderful.
c) Rule number nine by devildoll (Avengers, Darcy/Steve, NC17) - "Darcy was right, Steve admits to himself later that day. He never has a date for anything." In which Steve and Darcy go on Not Dates and more. Full of feels and sweetness and a fantastic Steve and Darcy.
d) These are better days by adventurepants (Avengers, gen) - They try to be patient with him. He figures, with Thor back in Asgard, he's the closest thing to an alien they've got. But he's stopped watching the news, anyway. It gets old, after a while, when you just keep seeing your own face. Short, poignant team!fic/Avengers follow up fic.
