How's things? Status quo
Hello, beloved f-list! I'm sorry it's been awhile. Life has been somewhat ~exciting~ work-wise and suddenly I look up and boom! It's the third week of November, what even.
First, hi, new friends! For a quick introduction, please click here; the entry itself is also a good indicator of what you'll find in my journal (basically, fandom happenings, movie squee, recs, and ♥s). I admit I'm a bit shy sometimes (it's chronic), but I really enjoy making new friends and I'd love to get to know you better. :)
Things, in no particular order:
♥ Celebrated mom's bday (yay mommy!)
♥ Amazon canceled my order for Men of Warrior because they ran out of supply, BOO. Bought new Meljean Brook steampunk novel and Rivers of London to soothe my sadness over lack of tantalizing, gorgeous THard pictures.
♥ Planning a Christmas trip to Tejas with my family! OMG SO EXCITED :D Can't wait to be back in my city, see all my old friends, EAT THE FOOD (OMG BUBBLE TEA YOU GUYS)
♥ Movies: saw Fast Five (still ridic but with very attractive Asian man (Giselle/Han woot) and an actual plot; Paul Walker still talks like a 12yo who's trying to be cool, not sure if that's intentional or not); King's Speech (brilliant), and Priest (don't waste your time, crap plot, crap writing; how on earth the actors could say their lines with a straight face, they are obv consummate professionals)
I'm still bouncing around and reading tons of fic. I wanted to keep this post short so I'll just rec a few things from the past 3 weeks:
♥ the limits of caution by antistar_e (Sherlock/TSN, Cameron/Erica/Tyler, implied John/Sherlock) - OMG Look what Elizabeth wrote for meeeee! ♥♥♥ It is FANTASTIC and adorable! ILU ELIZABETH ♥
♥ You and your high top sneakers and your sailor tattoos by musesfool (Avengers, Darcy/Steve) - I adore Darcy and if I have an Avengers OTP, it's Clint/Darcy. But! It's musesfool so of course, this is fantastic in every way, great story, great characterizations, spot on dialogue.
♥ Inception of the marvelous mind by someidiothasice (Avengers/Inception fusion) - I wish this was 100000 words longer.
♥ Hogwarts: A (marvelous) history, or: Thor and Loki's excellent adventure by altilis (Thor/HP fusion) - Blew my mind a bit. Brilliant.
♥ In every line of code by lc2l (TSN AU, Eduardo/Mark) - Perfection. Made me cry so hard. Holy crap, this is so good on so many levels.
