The week before last (two weeks ago on Wednesday, in fact), I had an interesting little experience on the bus. My last lesson was cancelled, which meant that I finished college and headed up to the bus stop an hour and a half early. (We still haven't had a reason for this, either, so what the hell?) On top of that, I decided--on a spur of the moment thing--to go the quicker way to the bus stop, as opposed to going the 'safer' way through town to the station.
On the bus, maybe two or three stops after I got on, a man got on. As soon as I saw him, I couldn't stop staring at him - and I'm not someone who stares at people often. He had a shaved head, and tattooes everywhere. All up his neck and down the sides/top of his head and face; all down his chest, from what I could see; and all down his arms and fingers. I'd been having something of a block, in regards to the novel I'm writing (an urban fantasy novel with the working title City of Vampires); and as soon as I saw him, an entire new plot just unfolded in my head.
He got off at my stop, and wandered away. He's now a fully-fledged character in the novel (though he's not actually been encountered yet ), and the novel's going well. I still need to thank the Mousai for that--I just can't shake the feeling that was a little bit of inspiration from the lovely ladies. ;)
Anyway, I'm tottering off to burn some incense for Persephone as a late happy-day-of-the-month thing, yeah.
