Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes -- it was a lovely surprise to find them today!
(Or I suppose it was technically yesterday)
My birthday was quite good. First full runthrough of Oedipus Tyrannos in Christ Church Cathedral went very well, I thought, in spite of loads of tourists. I like to think we gave them free entertainment of the puzzlingly Pagan variety just beneath the stained-glass window of St. George slaying the dragon.
And I have my name on an actual poster!
For anyone who's worked with me on anything theatrical before, you can understand why this is a phenomenally exciting milestone. I'm used to shoestring budgets and bare-bones flyers. Oedipus has posters, full-colour ones no less. Nevermind that we don't have a set yet. St. George will do for the moment, however unrelated.
So, yes. I'm very excited about this. Enough that I'm asking for an extra to frame.
I'm also at least somewhat tipsy. Went to a lovely party at Corpus for another friend of mine (her birthday was a few weeks ago and she commandeered the MCR), and only just got back. Having a quick cup of green tea before going to bed in hopes that I won't be hung over in the morning.
Should probably sleep, since I'm supposed to sing tomorrow. That will be interesting, given how much alcohol I had tonight.
