In another not-officially -a-resolution, as this seems to be the time of year for them, I'm trying to get a bit better at noticing small positives. I've found a decent handful this week:
-The hyancinth (I think) my not-in-laws gave me as one of my Christmas presents has flowered, and is rather pretty
-The T-shirt I bought with the £20 which was my main present from them arrived, and fits pretty well (it's
this one, which I've vaguely had my eye on for literally years, although it came in olive green, not grey, back when I began coveting it)
-One of my suitable-for-work dresses is a long sleeved black one with a white collar. In a moment of serendipity, A was home from work early enough one day this week to point out how cool it was that I was wearing my Wednesday Addams dress on Wednesday
-A was also home from work early yesterday, so we joined
vampadvocate for the pub quiz and the three of managed to tie with one other team for first place (although we lost the tiebreaker)
-I had a very decent panel today, who gave plenty of positive feedback.
The last of the above may be not entirely unrelated to my biggest news of the week, as I told them quite early on in the day.
My resignation has been accepted and, although there is still some wrangling to do over TIL/holiday/pay etc, I have an agreed last-day-at-work and only have to survive another 4 weeks of it. I was a bit peed off yesterday that they made no effort whatsoever to keep me, even though I'd told them fairly clearly how they could do so if they cared to try but, having had a day or so to get over the sense of rejection, I am well and truly into 'I'm well shot of the whole thing' mode.
Wish me luck with whatever comes next...
