Having not been to the cinema in ages, A and I finally made it there last night for the late night showing of 'Let Me In', which is a remake of 'Let the Right One In', presumably aimed at UK/US markets where subtitles reduce ticket sales.
It's a pretty decent film... but when I say remake, I really mean remake. The 1980s New Mexican winter setting meant that the look of it was very similar. There were a few scenes which were slightly more gory and graphic than in the original, and some scenes which had disappeared entirely (mostly stuff about the adult perspective on life in general and disappearances and murders in particular), but the only big change was shifting the action to an English-speaking country. Both the kid leads were very good, and if you've not seen the original this is certainly well worth a look, but if you have seen the original there's not a hell of a lot for you here.
