Nico Nico L'ARC STATION - Finale with the boys

Jun 28, 2011 23:19

We were all watching the Nico Nico L'Arc Station 24 hour streaming, yes? :3
OF COURSE WE WERE!

Here's a summary/partial translation of the final hour, in which the boys themselves appeared~

After a loooong pause from the last L'Arcquiz, we finally see... GOOD LUCK MY WAY. Again.
The sound is a bit low; they may have been running some final tests at that time.

Eventually, the song stops (it didn't finish properly) and we cut to a studio!

The MC introduces himself as Kosaka. (hereinafter, MC)

He welcomes the tremendous amount of viewers and presents the guests: L'Arc~en~Ciel!!!11!

Everyone is looking at a laptop screen, oohing over the GLUT of comments and saying they can't actually see the video ^^
"Helpful" subtitles pop up to say this is, indeed, L'Arc. 8D

MC asks the boys to introduce themselves.

hyde: I'm hyde!! I'm hyde!
tetsuya: (nervous tone) I'm tetsuya~
ken: I'm ken! *self-applause*
yukihiro: (completely normal tone) I'm yukihiro.

tetsuya says the comments are in the way and tries to "wave" them away in the air.
MC: We can turn them off if you like, see...

First question!
MC: So do you guys know about Nico Nico?
L': OF COURSE WE DO!

MC invites them to ask the crowd to do things, explaining that since it's in real-time, the fans will actually respond.
He demonstrates this by asking for applause.
A flood of 888888 ensues.
(Bird: applause sound effect in Japanese is "pachi pachi", which sounds like "hachi hachi" (and hachi = eight), especially if you say it fast)

hyde: OK! Everybody make a pun! A lame one!
(Floods of comments)
hyde: Make a COORDINATED lame pun, or we can't read it.
(comments: NOT GONNA HAPPEN and various lols)

MC invites them to ask the crowd stuff.
hyde asks for everyone to make a coordinated joke

tetsuya: OK then. They can make a shiritori game. Like our DVD
(Bird: He means like Chronicle 1; shiritori being a game where each word must begin with the ending of the previous word.)

Of course that isn't about to happen either, since no one can keep track of ALL the comments

hyde: Oh, I can read them all. I'm good with crowds.

ken then gets a turn at commanding The Crowd.
ken: Talk about melons!!

The Crowd then hits the perfect MELON PUN, by naming "Camelon Diaz"
tetsuya: That's brilliant! *he laughs*
All our boys approve heartily.

MC explains the structure, so to speak, of today's show. There will soon be a "user image investigation"
In other words, a survey.

(As anyone who saw the L'Arquizes knows, Nico Nico has a real-time survey function that appears as overlaid on the screen)

MC demonstrates with a sample question, asking the crowd "Where are you from?".
The options are Osaka, Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Jaburo. (The latter is from the original Gundam series)
*Note that the voting only works inside Japan, hence why there's no "overseas" option or anything

hyde: Ah of course.
tetsuya: I wanted them to put that in.
ken: *laughing* Obviously you did!

The results come back: over 30% of people claim to be in Jaburo!
(IIRC, it's supposed to be in Brazil, so for all we know it could be true 8D;;)

MC explains that "This is the kind of people of you get on this site"

So yes, they are actually using this function to get fan's opinions about the members. The fandom's image of the members, anyway.

First question! "Which member is nicest to women?"

While they wait for results, tetsuya says it's surely ken-chan.

tetsuya: Because he carries around a cucumber in his pocket for them. ken-chan loves cucumber, so he's always got it with him, and he's willing to share. *earnest nodding.* *innocent face*
ken: *when he finishes laughing* Oh yeah, there was a time when I did that. Totally.

Then the results of the poll come back.
yukihiro is ranked first! Followed by hyde, ken, and tetsuya last.

MC asks what they think, and whether it's true.

hyde: I guess... yukkie MIGHT be nice!
yukkie: HAHAHAHAHA
MC: Of course he must be super nice, look at that face.

Next poll question! "Who is the best cook?"
While the fans are clickaclicking, MC goes around for their input.

tetsuya: Oh I don't cool at all.
hyde: I do! I cook.
MC: You do?
hyde: Yeah. Once a year! I usually make curry.

He describes his eggplant curry, with emphatic eyebrow action.

ken: I can make gyoza. It's fun!
MC: Do you make the skins, too?
ken: No, I used pre-made ones, but with my own filling. Then I make hundreds at a time, it lasts me about three days.
MC: A gyoza party, then.
ken: Yeah, I love it.

tetsuya: ken-chan is good making gyoza!
hyde: He is. I've tried them.
MC: Have you?
hyde: Well, he left some in the fridge once, so I stole them. *innocent*
ken: *LOLOLOLOL*

The results come in!
Naturally, ken is first!
However, tetsuya is second! (What.)
hyde third, and last place is yukkie.

hyde: Sounds about right. His kitchen is COMPLETELY empty.
yukihiro: *nodding* It is. There is nothing in my kitchen.
hyde: It's unbelievable.

Next poll queston! "Which member is most likely to split the bill while on a date?"

hyde and tetsuya immediately start naming prices at which they'd consider doing that. (Very VERY high prices)

ken: I'd want my date to treat me! It's more romantic that way.

hyde describes some monstruous bar bills he's had.
The expression on his face when he says how SHOCKED!! he was at the bill when waking up the next day is priceless :3
Of course, these are all after-live parties, where the label, etc., pick up the tab.

MC: Would you still drink that much if you were paying it yourself?
hyde: Hahah, of course not! I'd stop doing lives if I had to pay my own tabs.

The results come back!
In order, tetsuya is ahead, followed by ken, hyde, and yukihiro.

tetsuya: Me? ._.
hyde: *laughs* That's your leaderly image.
MC: They think you're all responsible and serious.
hyde: I'd be depressed if I was you.
tetsuya: Eehhh....
hyde: Hey, you should treat me to drinks sometime.

They laugh.

t wins! k, h, y

h: LOL! that's your image
t: Ehhh....
Mc; They must think you're so serious and responsible.
h: I'd be depressed iif I were you.
h: You should treat me sometimes.

That ends the survey segment.

MC: And now we have a present for you! HERE IT IS!
*silence*
*confused L'members*

MC: Ah... sorry, the staffs were farther away than I thought...
tetsuya: You don't have anything, do you? Ehh, it's okay~

After a minute of fumbling, the staffs bring out a HUGE!!! L'20th cake!!
With 20 candles!

They surround it and blow the candles in sync~
(well, except yukkie, who wasn't close enough)
Floods of 88888 and CONGRATS!!! ensue~

MC: Do you eat cake?
h: I LOVE SWEETS!
Princess proceeds to stick a finger into the icing and lick it off, approvingly.

For the next bit, they are going to review some history.
We watch HONEY from GRAND CROSS CONCLUSION.

There is a sub-screen showing the members watching the same footage, but the sound balance is off and we can't hear them talking over the music.
We CAN see Lion playing with that plushie cube the entire time, though :3

After the clip -

MC: This was 1999?
L'boys: *nodnod*
MC: In Tokyo?
tetsuya: In Odaiba *nodnod*
MC: I hear there were 25 000 people. Is that right?
Members: *look around* *tentative nods*

MC: Is it?
hyde: Yeaaaah it was pretty AWESOME. I don't know how many people were there, but it was awesome. *nodnod*

They can't seem to recall any of the details MC is asking about, so ken just starts talking about random things 8D

ken: I tried biking to the back of the arena, and it took forever!
MC: It's so big!
ken: Yeah! It was tiring! Oh! And when the crowd jumped, it made a wave. Like, we could see a wave of jumps from the stage.

Then they notice the comments - tons of people are writing things like "I was there!" and "OMG THAT'S MY HAND" about the clip.
For a minute so, everyone just sits around going "hmm" and "eehh" and "oooh"

MC tries to ask his overly-specific GCC questions to hyde, again.

MC: *question*
hyde: Yeah... maybe. *serious nod*
MC: *Question?*
hyde: Maybe. *nodnod* Could be *nodnod*
MC: You don't actually remember, do you?
hyde: Not at all *keeps nodding*

h: trying hard to remember. Maybe maybe
ken: I remember eating moncha (??)
MC: You remember food?
ken: Well, watching the video reminded me.

They have another clip - this time Carress of Venus from L'7 Paris!

(I joined in the commenting so I didn't not everything down)

Unlike last clip, the sound levels are better adjusted, so we can hear the boys talking while they watch.
Someone is doing sound effects in time with the song (I suspect yukkie)

ken: Everybody watching this now, already watched this. That's amazing.
MC: But its easier like this, it's like watching a movie in the theater instead of at home. More social experience.

Floods of 8888 accomapny the end of the song.
They clap in the studio as well.

MC: So this was Paris! How many times have you been overseas? Do you remember?
hyde: A lot. ...... *wide-eyed look*

MC: What are some of the differences between foreign fans and Japanese fans? Are there any?
hyde: Oh sure. Japanese fans can be shy.. Overseas, when we do something on the stage, they really REACT. Like "WOW!!". Japanese fans, well they might be thinking "Oh wow~" but it doesn't show on their faces as much. In some foreign countries, they're a lot more expressive.

(Birditorial: MAJOR PROPS to hyde for that last part - noticing that "foreign" fans are not a monolithic block and that the world outside Japan is not one huge "foreign" culture. *feathers*)

MC then asks them to list their best memories of trips overseas they've taken. Starting with yukkie.

yukihiro: I liked... Hawaii? *smiles*
hyde: That doesn't count!
MC: That's so Japanese of you.
yukihiro: But it's my best memory! The first time I went to Hawaii, with L'Arc. *heart-melting smile*

tetsuya names his first trip to America - for L'Arc's first overseas live (Baltimore 2004, of course)
MC asks if it was scary, going to America.
hyde and tetsuya: *Non-committal hmmmmm*

tetsuya: It was amazing. We'd just finished a tour in Japan, and it was so different, in a lot of ways.

MC then has the brilliant idea to watch the livestreaming crowd if anyone is from overseas.
*facewing*

MC: Oh~ So many people from overseas~
(Comment screen fills with "KYA COME TO $COUNTRY PLEASE" type comments)

ken laughs and says they'd better stop that, so MC turns comments back off.

Lion has a question of his own for the internet:
ken: So~ What are you wearing?

Sample answers (read off by MC) include "PJs" "nothing" "underpants" "work clothes".
They all puzzle over some of the weirder ones like "no back"
ken: Does that mean we can see your butt?
tetsuya: I think it's a kind of dress actually.

They decide to try another question - this time, "What is your REAL age?"
Most of the answers are teens and twenty-somethings.
MC: They're so young!

One person puts in "97" and they *earnestly* discuss how wonderful it is that someone so old is watching them over the internet~ 8D;

MC then gets back to interviewing the actual rock stars.

MC: Does it feel like its really been 20 years?
hyde: Sometimes. It does when I look at all the pictures and all of the stuff we've done. Like, "Oh yeah, we did all that." "Yeah, we had an era like that"
tetsuya: It feels so short. Time goes so fast. *nodnod*
ken and yukkie just laugh.

MC explains that something will happen in "a minute thirty-one" 8D+
He explains how they tried to find a 1:31 jingle but everything they have at NicoNico is super short, so he just had to say it.

The last minute-and-half fits in one more question.

MC: How does it feel to be here?
hyde: It's like we're on the TV of the future.
MC: You're right! That's absolutely right!

He says a few things about the potential of livecasting like this.

MC: For example, we could have a worldwide survey and do whatever they want us to do.
tetsuya: But I cant change my clothes that fast *nodnod*

Suddenly, we are interrupted by a NicoNico jingle!

When we return, the boys all introduce themselves again, this time properly looking at the camera ^^
(Mostly ^^ hyde had to be pointed to WHICH camera they were using, and yukkie started talking before ken's applause ended, so he had to repeat)

MC: Why did we redo the intros? Because this show is now on outdoor screens in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka!
(That's right, L'Arc just screen-jacked the three biggest cities in the country /m/)

hyde derps about with the cameras some more 8D

MC: Say hi. Come on! Half the country is watching, say Hi!
hyde: OK... Anyeounghasseyo!
MC: NO! Not in Korean! We're not on any screens in Korea! Only Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka!
hyde: Ah, sorry.

He then gave a greeting in ??? (a Kyuushuu dialect, from the MCs reaction? IDK!)

MC gets exasperated and asks Leader to take over the greeting instead.

tetsuya: Eh, me? OK
*looks at camera*
tetsuya: *in Korean* "Do you want to eat my Banana?"
MC: (+_+))ノシ (+_+))ノシ (+_+))ノシ (+_+))ノシ

He then asks ken to do it.
ken: *starts saying something in ??Chinese??)

MC:: NO!! yukihiro-san, please?
yukkie: NO WAY! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

MC, defeated!

Comments at this point are a tremendous flood of 888888888888

~~~
The next segment involves lucky fans getting to deliver a "Happy L'anniversary" message to the boys by phone!!
To qualify, you had to be (1) In Japan, (2) Having a Premium Account, and (3) DL the Niconico keitai app.
I was 3/3 so for the next 10 minutes I was too busy frantically trying to call L'Arc to take any notes 8D;;;
~~~

Two lucky fangirls got through and made lovely congrats!! messages to your boys~
Then we got a clip from the GLMY PV (again)

In the next segment, they talk about recording GLMY:

hyde: Its fast. Its really really really fast.
MC: You mean the temo?
hyde: Well. Yeah.

*sudden goodboy!face*
hyde: I DID MY BEST TO WRITE LYRICS FOR IT

hyde: Since this is the 20th anniversary single, I had to do it properly. It all symbolizes "A new journey starting here"

tetsuya is asked about today's streaming.
tetsuya: I suspected we might get to eat some cake~
MC: I think your fans want you to eat it and be genki...
hyde and tetsuya: *looking* *derpy*
tetsuya: I bet you bought that cake for us back in January :/

ken is asked what he thinks of these fans.
ken: Ehh errr gmmm these people?
MC: Yes, these ones.
ken: I... I... Want to excite the fans we already had, and also make new ones!

Back to talking about the single:

tetsuya: Of courese, this is just the FIRST 20th anniversary single, and we're going to release a lot more now.
MC: Oh really?
tetsuya: We're doing a Hop, step, jump sort of thing. So its only going to accellarete. I mean right now, it's one single a year... so we'll speed up!

MC then compliments GLMY.
MC: Truly, this is a great song.
tetsuya: It is?
hyde: THANK YOU!
yukihiro: It took me a long time! My part, I mean. *laughs* Its so fast so I spent a lot of time on the drums
hyde: Don't force yourself to talk, now.
yukihirp: LOL! I tried 8DDD

MC: We're approaching the ending now. All of your songs played in these 24 hours. All your songs in 24 hours? Have you ever done that before?
tetsuya: Oh, of course. It takes an all-nighter. (Note: "All-nighter" in Japanese = tetsuya)
MC: Oh reall? You? a tetsuya?
tetsuya: Of course *grin*
MC: *FACEPALM* *groan*

Most Obvious Pun in the World: ACCOMPLISHED

They go over some stats of the 24 hour L'Arcathon - Namely, the fact they got over ONE MILLION COMMENTS in the first 12 hours.
MC: A lot of them were quite dirty! I watched about three hours of the stream myself, I wanted to see the live parts.
hyde thanked him.

Then they cover the sorta-news: 20th L'Anniversary tour and dates
Comments:
yuki: *thumbs up* IKUZE!
MC: Do it to the camera
yukkie: *much less genki* IKIMASU!

ken: GANBARIMASU! *smiles*
tetsuya: Okay. *shy smile*

hyde: Check out this band atmosphere we have. It took 20 years for us to get this awesome, SO WATCH OUT! *points* It's only going to get better.

Then they dicuss THE WORLD TOUR!!
(Commentors: 888888888888888888888)

comments:
hyde: *dramatic!* We're coming! Nobody from Japan's ever done such a big tour! We're as big as Sting, and we work hard, so we kinda want you to ..
"check it out"
(His tone gradually dropped in confidence as he talked, and he finished with the last words actually in English)

The other members loled at his "CHECK IT OUT" ness

tetsuya: I'll get a lot of air miles. *smile*
MC: I'm sure you will.
tetsuya; Then I can take another trip after the tour ^-^

ken: GANBARIMASU!
MC: Anything else to say?
ken *still playing with plushie* *shaking his head* GANBARIMASU

yukihiro: L'ARC IS AWESOME!
hyde: What are you playing at?!
yukihiro: *LAUGHS!* 8DDD

MC then talks about the 20th Campaign - the one where you send in four labels from goods released this year to enter a lottery.

Almost over now.
MC: How was it to be here?

hyde :I keep forgetting what I wanted to say whenever I look at the screen.
MC: Shall we read the comments one more time?

Comments promptly start flooding: EXTEND THE SHOW!! MAKE IT LONGER!!!

MC: *flatly* We can't do that. Sorry.

Ultimately, they had over 2 800 000 comments, from OVER 900 000 viewers!
tetsuya: Is that over ten thousand?
MC: It's well over 10 000, tetsuya-san

MC thanks the boys for coming and invites them to come again sometime.
While he does, they wave, and leader clearly mouths "arigato" to the camera :3

It ends with the FMA version of GOOD LUCK MY WAY

That's it!

EDIT: There is a recording up! See this post: http://larcenciel.livejournal.com/1329663.html
