Alright. My trip to the met in new york with my art school was pretty crappy, as most museum trips are with my school. Partially because museums themselves are shit. Anyways, we go into details here.
Alright. Had to get up at 6:30 am and got to the school, bus left at 7 am.
uneventful three hour bus ride.
We got there, had to meet with the group of students/teachers once we arrived in some exhibit. Listened to one of the teachers talk for about fifteen minutes while impatiently wanting to get food, then finally we could break of and go search for it.
Me, Melissa (aquaintence/friend from freshman year) laura (aquaintence/friend from freshman year) and paulo (aquaintence from freshman year) form a little group and we wander through the medieval art section because thats what you go through to get to the cheapest cafeteria (there's five of them throughout the museum)
We semi-glance at the art and other various artifacts, but I end up shoving everyone along because I want food, threatening that I would eat them instead if they didn't come on. They were hungry as well, just maybe not so...vicious about it as I was?
Anyways, after some searching we finally get to the cafeteria. Like all museum food, its way too fucking expensive. And soon the other stereotype would come true, the one about all museum food being shit. I got a burger, fries, some rasberry cup cake thing, and a jones green apple soda. The soda was good, I've never had a Jones soda before. Everything else? I could have gotten something as good or better at mcdonald's. Especially the fries. They were dry, and cold. The burger was unseasoned. the icing on the cupcake was also dry, and fairly stiff.
Ok, sounds only somewhat bad? yea. Now, think of those four things costing 15 FUCKING DOLLARS.
After we all got out shitty food, we looked for a table for five minutes. Never found one because it was TOO FUCKING CROWDED. So we sat in a corner on the floor and started eating.
A minute later, THEN a table opened up and we just HAD to go to it. yet another interruption.
After that was over, we got the fuck out and went to the arms and armour section, and stayed there for about two hours. That ALMOST made the trip worthwhile, with all the awesome germanic armour, weaponry, etc. They had all of europe and japan, but of course i honed in on the germanic stuff. They also had flintlock pistols, rifles, revolvers, etc.
Then two hours later or so we went to get dinner, at first thinking we'd try to find some place outside the museum. Then we realized it was getting dark, so we said fuck it since we didn't know the area. We tried another one of the cafeterias, which was equal shittage. Tiny, unseasoned turkey sandwhich, with the turkey being of grocery store quality, sparkling lemon soda stuff, and some lemon bar. 17 bucks.
It was almost as crowded, but it only took 3 minutes to find a seat this time.
Left and met up the rest of the teachers/students at the bus, then got in, started trip back.
Halfway through the three hour trip, strip poker began. I was at a loss as it was the first time i had played poker, and that i hadn't worn nearly as many layers as the other people. But i was bored, so i did it.
Ended up losing a jacket, both shoes and my shirt.
got to a rest stop, everyone's walking around out side with their coats and i with just my tshirt. i mock them and one of them says "look, not everyone has super yeti powers like you do, some of us get cold". and it amused me.
got back to schook at around 11:30. got home shortly after, took five minute shower, went online thinking cath wouldn't be there and was happily proved wrong.
waste of a day, but i didn't go to class atleast.
