About the 1974 Tornado Here
Bonita Andrew, 48. She died from head injuries April 19 at Louisville General Hospital. She and several other people had sought shelter at Apostolic Life Tabernacle on Hanover Hill across the road from the power plant. Her next-door neighbor was the pastor there, and the church had a basement.The tornado tore the church off its foundation, then hurled debris and cars from the parking lot into the exposed basement. Her home wasn’t damaged.
