Happy...?

So... Easter.  Happy Easter to those who celebrate!  And to those that don't... happy free day?

Easter here was... interesting.  We've been going to church (I say 'we' meaning my family, though forced to go in the past I'm never there mentally) since I was born.  Dad was brought up in a very religious family.  And recently, since my grandma's been moved into an assisted living place mom and/or dad and my sister have taken her to church every Sunday.  Along with said move, my aunt has been driving us up the wall with stupid little things.  So Dad decided this year we just weren't going to church.  He didn't talk to my aunt at all about anything to do with the holiday.  I'm going to assume that she took my grandmother to church, and if not, good god we're never going to hear the end of it.  From either of them.

Needless to say I was quite thrilled with this announcement.  No waking up at some ungodly hour just to sit on a wooden bench for 2 HOURS listening (or pretending) to a guy preach to us while babies and little kids whined and cried and everyone generally was grumpy because of it.  WOOT.  Mom still hides eggs my sister and I dye as well as our baskets.  Mickey even got one this year, filled with his favorite treats!  It was good fun until around 11 this morning.  Mom went for a short drive just to see what she could find and came back to tell us there was an apartment complex on fire across town.  By the time my dad and I joined her in the car, the entire top half of one of the apartment buildings was either caved in or in flames.  And the worst part was my great aunt was staying in that exact building.  Luckily she, and everyone else, got out okay but from what it looked like the building is a complete loss.  Apparently someone was grilling on the second story and combined with 15 or so mile per hour winds and how dry it's been, it didn't take much for the fire to start and spread.  Interesting day, to say the least.

Today is also my sister's birthday, so happy birthday little sis!  She's 17.  Yikes.  It's been hell already, I'm dreading the next two years.

It's also the birthday of one my favorite actors, Taylor Kitsch.  Any Friday Night Lights fans?  John CarterThe CovenantX-Men: Wolverine?  (Tim Riggins, John Carter, Pogue Parry, Remy 'Gambit' LeBeau, respectively)  He's hot, okay?  And sweet.  And talented.

And?  He DEFINITELY can pull off the dirty, badass, sleeveless shirt look:

Hope you all are doing well!
