The dining room
We have been putting a lot of effort into the dining room. Still more to do, but I thought I would share some pictures.
The whole family helped out to build and paint the wainscotting. The pictures above it were Christmas presents to Chad from the kids.
I think I want some type of tall tree in this corner. It would hide that air conditioning unit a little more. Hey, did you notice we painted the air conditioner to match the wall. That helped out a lot. Maybe I should paint that outlet cover too...
One more picture to prove that I finally put something up on the window. I haven't found an actual curtain that I want yet. I was just holding up a tablecloth to see what I thought of gold in the room, and it fit. So I sewed in a rod pocket and voila, instant, free (temporary) curtain. Short term plans for the room are a chandelier and finishing the last wall of wainscotting. Long term plans include a more formal looking table and a hutch. The perfect curtain and possible tree will fall into place somewhere in the middle.
