If you wouldn't mind sharing your source - where did you get the belt findings for the 15th century V-neck gown? It's beautiful, and that's such an essential piece of the dress.
I'd love to know too. Would you also be willing to share the documentation on it? I'm currently starting out researching the era for Costume Con's historical next year.
Documentation for the buckle is with the maker, we did not have it custom made just custom ordered. It's a replica of a belt in a 1455 painting:
"B09. Flemish, wide belt parts Extremaly decorative silver (or gilded silver ) elements for reconstruction of XV c. belt. The basis for this extraordinary work was Rogier van der Weyden's 'Portrait of young woman', circa 1455, now in National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C. (detail visible on last picture below). There are shown two versions - silver and gilded silver, belt width about 54mm."
