River Tam was sitting in the cockpit of Jubel Early's hidden ship waiting for him. River had made a deal she would give herself up for the sake of the crew. it was better that she went with the bounty hunter Early. Simon would be free to pursue Kaylee and be happy. She and Early were alike,it suited her better. She was too dangerous for a relationship with Jayne. The teen-aged girl watched the dark skinned man approach her and the ship. Early entered the ship and strapped River in before they left Serenity for good.
