Because cybermathwitch has the best memes lately...

So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious but you have no idea about, or something obscure you just have to know. Ask away. All topics, within reason, are open for discussion ( Read more... )

What question do you secretly hope someone will ask in memes like this, but they never do?

Wow! I don't think I've ever had to think so hard about a meme question before!

While I am partial to the "What is your favorite color" questions that I just don't get to answer enough, there's always the "Which Smurf do you idolize" or "What fruit do you find most appetizing" line of questioning that I find interesting. Or maybe, "On what planet would you like to live?" would really get to the heart of who I am as a person. You know, dig to the very heart of what makes Lar tick.

What is your favorite thing to do on Sunday afternoons?

In the summer, I like nothing more than to sit out under the apple trees in my parents' back yard and read.

In the winter, I curl up on the couch with a warm blanket and a book.

Okay, pretty much my favorite moments include a book. And warmth.

That is so easy for me to answer that I'm almost concerned for humanity if I was actually a super hero!

I'd pick the one with the kids. First, can I just say that I think it's a great idea to segregate these two groups. Old people and single people don't want to have to put up with screaming kids so kudos to that airline! But that means that the no-kids group had a really nice flight to this point. In essence, they've lived the dream. They don't need anything else. I hope they remember, as they plummet to their doom, just how good they had it before they died.

Also, this is a really good reminder that super heroes need to WORK IN GROUPS! Why am I working alone? How sad is it that I don't have anyone else to help me. I need to work on making more super hero friends!

:D

I posted this on Facebook and a friend was disappointed that I wasn't trying to mess with time and space to save both sides of the plane. I can answer that in four words: NEVER OPEN A RIFT. *shakes head* Nothing good can come of that.

I grew up in a time when the United States was Space Race Crazy. I can tell you where I was in 1986 when the Challenger exploded because it made a HUGE impact on me. One of my teachers (I was a sixth grader) had gotten through the first couple of rounds in an attempt to be the first teacher in space so we were all paying very close attention to not only the shuttle mission but everything around it. Every class was using it as a teaching tool in some way ( ... )

Everyone little girl wants a pony! *g* (I know I did :) )
Venus is definitely the most beautiful planet. Shame it is so deadly!
There were some programmes on recently cataloguing the history of space exploration, they were so interesting, so many things I'd forgotten about. I won't forget Challenger either, but I can hardly imagine how shocking it must have been for your class. Voyager was truly a triumph. We went to the National Space Centre in my country last year, saw many shuttle and other space artefacts, it was a great place.
Wonderful answer! Thank you!

While I no longer yearn to travel in space, I mourn for the fact that so much of our space program has been cut. I think there is a part in everyone that wants to know what is truly out there. Yes, we have super telescopes now but there's nothing like having firsthand knowledge (or, you know, youtube video). That being said, I can't wait to see what knowledge we get from the Mars Rover and other things like that.

Where is the National Space Centre at?

I went through a crazy couple of years when I wanted to be Trixie Belden. She was a newer form of Nancy Drew that was written in the same form (but without the cool car) in the 80s that I gobbled up and oh, how I wish they were still producing the TB books because I would love to help write them ( ... )

SOMEONE WHO KNOWS ABOUT TRIXIE!!!! *hugs*

I've been intent on collecting the books ever since I got money of my own! While I have some of the original copies, I've been trying to also get the reprints they did a couple of years ago. Those are much easier for me to either give as gifts or lend out to the Littles.

I started a couple of fanfics a few years back when there was talk of the series being rebooted but I've never heard anything more about it. I have so much Trixie/Jim love in my heart that it just has to be expressed!

Where did you live at in Nevada? We were in Fallon... another place few people know about.
