Ugh, cliffhanger indeed! I do appreciate more insight to Cyril Ann's family and how she got her title. Curious as heck about Daphne and especially this Mr. Gibbons. I'm wondering if her mother is truly in on this 'encounter' or if she's been manipulated into it by Daphne.

This is marvelous. The contrast between how her father and her mother deal with his becoming the Commander show the difference in their personalities. Cyril Ann seems to balance between their very different lifestyles. The gap has widened between Cyril Ann and her mother making her wary when it turns out that her mother sent for her.

Will Cyril Ann's two lives collide? Why is the clergyman visiting?
