Rilke comes to the rescue once again.
This morning I had many things I wanted to accomplish. Since I forgot my laptop charger at home, I decided to use Mom & Dad's computer. I should know that this means I don't get any writing done. It does mean that I do more pretties! I redid my journal (new header with a new Rilke poem that I ADORE) and this is my new icon that goes with it. I'm not too keen on the orangey background but it's complimentary. To change it, I would have to get more technical than I want to get so early! Or ever.
DM is struggling in English because her teachers can't really help her. I can't say that I'm all for these small town schools if they can't actually teach our children something. I don't know if her Mom told me this because she WANTS me to help or just to tell me. Now I feel compelled to do something. If nothing else, I can teach sentence structure and how to use different sentences and punctuation. I'm just afraid of breaking her. It is an awesome though to have someone's future in your hands. THIS is the reason I didn't want to become a teacher when I was in college and trying it out. Too much pressure. So I'm going to go looking for things that might be able to help me help her.
