5. By age, who is your youngest character? Oldest? How about “youngest” and “oldest” in terms of when you created them?
I'm going to start with my oldest character:
Mrs. McCreedy or The McCreedy, as she is called by some people. She's ancient, the keeper of the magic well that Allen Street has grown up around. She likes to think she's indestructible but she's not. Immortality pays the price when it isn't able to keep up with the changing times and she finds herself unable to adapt. Pity, really. She was fun to write... all curmudgeony and sharp-edges!
The youngest would be
Anna (from one of the Allen Street stories I've already shared). In reality, she looks young but really she's as old as the wind and twice as flighty.
Okay, so I've gone through my stuff and I think the youngest I've written with any sort of quantity is 16. The best of the youngest would be in the COMPLETE story (I kid you not, although I'm still working through the second draft),
Merry Things. Abbie is a teenager who grows up a lot in the story. On a side note, I'm unlocking the first chapter for this post but if you'd like to read more, let me know and I'll open up the rest.
The youngest in terms of when she was created would have to be Elsabeth. There is nothing to show you because she's still in my head but I'm going to write about her for this year's NaNo. She's a young girl in the country of Keladra (an original country that a friend of mine created and is letting me play in). I'm planning on starting when she's very young, living with her father and then following her as life starts to press down on her and everything is taken away.
The oldest character that I've written... I don't even know. I've been writing for so long and had so many worlds created by my muse that I wouldn't even know who the oldest character is. That thought brings a smile to my face just the way that writing always should.
