Well, the word on the street is that Daunte Culpepper wants to get more money. At first I didn't think very much of that report but it is gaining steam and is apparently true. Now, I happen to think that Daunte is one hell of a quarterback. I know he fumbles a lot, NFL Record holding 23 fumbles in 2001 but he still has amazing talent. When he is on his game I think I feel safe saying he is in the top 5 QBs in the league.
With that said I don't think someone who went 2 - 5 before tearing 3 Ligaments in his right knee really deserves more money. I know that his season was cut short by a possibly career ending injury but 6 Touchdowns and 12 Interceptions, not to mentions 5 more fumbles, does that sound like a raise??? I just can't figure out where Daunte and his agent figure they have a case here.
I hope that the Vikings keep Daunte. I think that he will be great so long as he heals. Oh well, I guess I don't have anything else. I am just a little confused.
