Goddamn phones
Why are there so many different frequencies used between carriers? Why are there so many standards across countries?
I mean really. FUCK CDMA. I'm tired of my handset choices being either A) works on verizon (which is to say, gets enough signal to make a call) or B) will potentially work in another country.
I've been looking at a Nexus S, just because the N1 I have is starting to feel a little middle-aged. But my biggest gripe about the N1 is T-mobile's shit network. Locally, AT&T isn't any better. Sprint is supposed to have a WiMAX re-release of the Nexus S coming out soon, but Sprint is even more awful than T-Mobile.
