Ok, first off -- I changed my Lenten resolution.
You may call it caving (like my husband did) but I like to think of it as reworking. Instead of giving up pop completely, I am now intent on drinking 8 glasses of water a day. This is a serious challenge, as there have been many a day when I drink NO water. Pop, tea, coffee, milk -- yes, but no water. And in the last 2 days, I have only had one soda per day (and lots of water!) so I'm feeling good about the change.
Another resolution I made in January and am just now sharing with you was inspired (I think) by the lovely
erin2326, who had resolved to watch 100 new-to-her movies in 2008. I decided to do that, because I'm a lazy movie fan who would rather watch something I've seen 20 times AGAIN when it runs on TBS rather than see something new. And there are a bunch of movies I've been wanting to see, or feel like I should have seen or had recced to me by others, or what have you.
Here's what I've seen so far:
Knocked Up (2007)
Eyes Without a Face (1960)
Village of the Damned (1960)
Coming Soon (1999)
The Prince of Egypt (1998) - a 'family movie night' selection
The Wicker Man (1973)
Meet the Robinsons (2007) - ditto
Superbad (2007)
The Woman in Black (1989)
Mulan (1998) - ditto
and tonight's entry:
Latter Days (2003)
God, that movie made me WEEP, yo. But it is SO, SO GOOD. Definitely one of my favorites that I'll need to get on DVD.
This is a fun challenge. Next up -- The Outsiders (1983). Yeah, I know..."do it for Johnny!" I've never seen it, and it's 'bout time I did.
