Oh man.
R and I were discussing what we were going to give up for Lent. He is giving up drinking beer at home, and more drastically, sweets in general. O.O
I was prepared to try to say the rosary more (as I did about 6 Lents ago) and start going to mass every Sunday again (we've not gone regularly for a couple of years, and my 6 y/o goes weekly now that he goes to Catholic school. It's pretty sad that we don't go as a family.) But R's sacrifice is making me think about making a REAL, challenging sacrifice. And I think I'm going to do it.
Giving up pop entirely. (Pop, soda, Coke, whatever you call it in your neck of the woods.)
This is HUGE for me. I am seriously addicted to Mountain Dew, and if I'm not drinking that, it's CF Diet Dr. Pepper. Or Diet Coke/Pepsi. Or Cherry Coke One.
I need to give it all up, tho. The Mountain Dew is starting to affect my teeth, and the sugar and carbonation is only helping my weight creep up - actual weight and water weight. Ugh.
I just finished my 3rd MtnDew of the day to go out with a bang. Think good thoughts for me. This is going to be hard.
So what are y'all giving up? Anything interesting?
