I need to watch things die from a distance...vicariously

So the new Tool single, Vicarious, has been leaked. My initial reaction to it is still being formed. The song is ultimately a commentary on our culture's obsessive need to watch nightly tragedy on the news, hence the title of the post which is an excerpt from the song. Musically it sounds like the Tool from Undertow and the Tool from Lateralus melded together and put out an album. It's definitely heavier than they've done in a long time, but still has the same atmospheric elements that I enjoyed from Lateralus. Personally I thought Lateralus was their best work to date, but this looks like it will top it. I can tell that 10,000 Days will be in heavy rotation in my car and by heavy rotation I mean that I'll be listening to it non-stop for the next 3 months. That being said....guess what? They're coming to Kansas City on May 11th! Tickets go on sale next week. Who's coming with me? Regardless, I'm buying a ticket and going. It's been far too long since I've seen a live show and Tool sounds like it will hit the spot. The downside? Ticketmaster wants 63 dollars for them. Certainly an upgrade from the 45 dollars I paid last time I saw Tool live. But this is a special smaller pre-European tour. I'll be in line.
