The River Wild

My weekend home left me longing for more carefree but not necessarily better days. It was awesome to see my family and friends. I was presented with a very sweet get well card by Amanda. She's a keeper, Lu. We watched one of the most ridiculous movies I've ever seen in my life: an 80's gem called Raw Deal featuring some of the most awful dialogue ever shat out on a page. "You should not drink and bake." Otherwise I spend time with my parents and spent some quality time with my friends. I came home feeling quite out of sorts. Today was kind of grey to me. My mood which had until recently been pretty rock stable took a more depressed turn than it had in a while. I can already feel it lifting. I found myself incredibly bored and unmotivated today. In other news I recently purchased the new Underworld Soundtrack which is really good, but not quite as solid as the first, I feel. I also purchased the Morningwood CD which is fantastic. Chantel Claret the singer of said band has one of the most seductive and rockingest voices I've heard in a long time. A couple of their songs are downright sinful...in particular Babysitter. She's the kind of babysitter I would have prayed for as a kid. Alack, alas, no such luck. I'm also pretty impressed with El Cielo by Dredg. The 5.1 SACD mixture is one of the most amazing uses of a surround mix I've heard for an album. Honestly, it lends the music a whole new dimension which made their already haunting and ethereal sound hair-raising. I'm jealous of Lu's superior listening venue. Sometimes I'd love to be able to just sit and listen to music in his house for hours, which I spent a generous amount of time doing as well. I makes me want my own entertainment room someday where I can enjoy such things myself. I may even have a lazer pod or two installed for good measure.
