A bunch of brain burps
As much as I love playing soccer on Friday nights, Saturday mornings sometimes make me regret it. Since I play goalkeeper, I expect a decent collection of bruises and sore spots, and I knew I was going to have an ugly one from a particularly hard shot this week, but I didn't quite expect it to blossom this badly (photo behind the link for the squeamish). I'm actually looking forward to a 3-week break after next week, so I can let my wrists heal up, too.
Holidays were nice and quiet, thankfully. My younger brother was back from Boston for Thanksgiving, but wasn't able to make it up for Christmas (he had to work the 26th). My grandparents made it up for both, were fun to be around, and weren't too disruptive (they're both over 80 and very set in their ways, even when they're not home). Christmas presents weren't numerous, but the big one was awesome: 500 gig external HD, which is very welcome.
I'm going to a New Year's party this year down in Colchester, which will be the first time I've done anything special for New Years in a long time (I made it to First Night Burlington back in my freshman year at Hopkins, and don't think I've done anything since). Video games and anime are planned to be plentiful, and though booze will be there, I have no plans to drink.
Speaking of video games, I continue to get addicted to music/rhythm games, this time it's Rock Band. The song selection is already awesome, and I've still got two or three more tiers left to unlock.
I got to watch the Patriots win again tonight on TV (thank you, NFL, for caving and letting the game be broadcast on normal TV instead of just on your premium-tier cable/dish station), and that was an entertaining game to watch. I'm looking forward to hearing what the guys on the sports show will be saying about it on Wednesday.
AMV-wise, I'm working on an old-school romance video (both the song and the series are from the eighties), and I've put my very techy Rayearth video plans on the back burner until I can afford the Japanese R2s. The R1s are just an absolute mess, and after seeing an episode from the R2s in WMV (that still looked better than anything I could work out of the R1s), I'm probably better off waiting on that one. I'm thinking of attempting godix's genre challenge for the year, but I've never made eight videos in a year, so I might try for partial completion.
Anyway, it's late and I should get to bed.
