Remember this?
The First Anniversary Post (6/13/08)

It's been one more year since! Hooray!!! So what's up with me?

Just finished my last pre-clinical exam this morning which means that I've finished 4 whole semesters, and have 5 more to go.  This time doing stuff inside the hospital, a hospital which is not in Melbourne. Yup, I'm moving to Shepparton next month, the 5th largest city in the state of Victoria, Australia.  The curriculum will be the same as the ones in metro Melbourne, it's just that I will be living in cheap (but really really nice) university accomodation :), and will be far away from friends :( For that, readjustment again. SIGH...

This winter break will be a very busy one, 1 conference, 1 camp, and lots and lots of packing and moving to do.

Hmmm...on the more emo side of things, just when I've almost resolved my identity crisis (as a Chinese-Filipino, not quite local, not quite international student) by hanging out with Asian friends, mostly international students, some local Asians, a few Filipinos, I feel like I'm being tossed into an unfamiliar place where almost everyone will be Caucasian, and a minority will be local Asians.  Actually, the main reason I'm being put here is because of my Australian citizen status (they don't put international students in far away places).  I just pray that I will adjust well, although I'm sure it will be a slow process, because in these 2 years, I'm still not that comfortable around Caucasians due to cultural and language differences.  The only Aussie Aussies I get along with are those in my church who I feel are more sensitive and caring towards international people.  Anyway, I hope this will be a positive experience for me and I will try to do my best.  Wish me well!!!!!

:D
