Back to Reality

The 2-month long vacation that ended so suddenly...sniff sniff...

That was the longest Manila to Melbourne flight ever, due to the fact that I chose Cathay Pacific this time.

Pros:
- Airfare cheaper than PAL by $200 if leaving before Dec 4, 2008 (I left Dec 3)
- Nice, comfortable seats that can recline without disturbing the person at your back, and head stabilisers (that's what I call them) so your head doesn't roll onto your seatmate, thus avoiding salivary spills, in case you fall asleep
- Individual monitors where you can watch movies and play games
- The flight attendants are not old (joke lang, di ako ageist 'no!)

Cons:
- Manila --> Hong Kong (4 hours sa HK airport!) --> ADELAIDE! (bakit di ko alam..huhuhu)  --> Melbourne. So naging 17 hours yung return flight, instead of 8-9 hours. Grabe, haggard sobra...
- Ugly socks that look like basahans (haha, conyo)
- For the MLA to HK flight, I got a seat in the front row beside crazy crying babies and a non-functional monitor. Malas.

Anyway, by the grace of God I got home safely and to my HORROR, our kitchen has apparently been invaded by small cockroaches!!!! Kadiri sobra, so instead of resting, I cleaned not only mine, but everyone's cupboard space and the whole kitchen/sink area...pati microwave at fridge may ipis.

Today I bought some cockroach traps.  Hope they work.

Question: Which are more tolerable? Giant flies (which is so 2008), or tiny cockroaches (the hot new species of 2009)?

Thanks, God, for:
- A wonderful vacation with family and friends in Manila.
- Keeping me safe throughout the trip.
- Escaping by a few days the Melbourne heat wave, reaching 38 degrees Celsius and killed 30 people.
- Another chance at making this year better than the last.
