Uneventful
A rather uneventful day. Except for Natalie's lesson in which I sat on Kash while she free-longed him a little and I forgot to check the girth so the saddle slipped and I had to do a bit of an emergency dismount. I wacked my hand on the rail while doing it, though, which went quite numb and now the inside of my right pinky still feels a little weird, but other than that I'm okay.
Lesson: TIGHTEN THE GIRTH! I'm usually super-good about it, but the ONE TIME I forget the saddle slips and I wack my hand.
Anyway, worked on art, watched several hours of that Aussie horse trainer (Clinton Anderson) as I attempt to finish the Colt starting DVDs so I can move on to the awesome set of Reiner Klimke's DVDs that I got for my birthday and haven't touched yet (I've been that busy).
Went to the grocery store, went to Barnes and Nobel and indulged in my Ultimate Spider-Man habit. I'm so far behind though, mostly because I haven't been able to justify buying any, but with lessons going well and some loose change clanging in my pocket (that and a gift card) I allowed the indulgence. Except for that most of my "indulgence" purchases have related to horses and teaching lessons anyway. Speaking of which there is a REALLY NICE lungeing cavesson on sale that I plan on getting because one of mine is shot and I don't feel like buying a cheap $20 one to replace it because I want a NICE one rather than wasting money on a cheap nylon one that's going to rot in a couple years.
This is mostly an "I live" post, really. Trying to get back into the habit of posting daily, at least during the regular work-week.
