Ever Onward

Life continues its tireless march!

There is another heat advisory out today, of course I didn't realize that when I tried to work Kash after my lesson this morning. I basically got him warmed up and came to the conclusion that it was just too horribly gross outside to do anything else and called it quits. I was quite saturated in sweat and Kash had a good amount on him too for just a few minutes' work. I hosed him off quite thoroughly and afterwards put some bag balm on his tail. He gets really dry under his tail on occasion and it itches and then he scratches it and it becomes more dry and irritated creating a never-ending cycle of Kash's itchy butt, which usually ends up with bald patches on his rear from where he scratches. Fortunately he usually lifts his tail OVER the rail so he doesn't rub all the hair off the top of his tail, but bald butt spots aren't terribly attractive either, though they take less time to grow back. Hopefully the bag balm will take care of it, I just need to remember to put it on every morning until it's healed.

The bugs seem to be doing a number on some of the horses. Panda has small lumps on her face and belly, Kash has a couple here and there, however it's Strudel who seems to be suffering the most with all sizes of lumps everywhere on her body. Marty things it might be caused by ants and I wouldn't be too terribly surprised. Mosquitoes are also now out in force with the rain that occurred last week. I was bit several times this morning, but managed to squash a good dozen of the little buggers while I was watering the garden.

Yesterday I spent a lazy hour and a half in the tub soaking and reading. It was so nice. I haven't done anything like that in a LONG time. Especially after working outside until 11.00 yesterday, which for anyone familiar with Arizona during the monsoon season, you know how bad it is. High temperature+high humidity=death.

Bea and Zayne went home on Tuesday and are doing well. Mom seems quite happy in her new role as a grandmother. I haven't met the little guy yet, but I will eventually! I did spend the last couple days working on painting a plaster carousel horse for the baby's room, it's finally finished and Mom took it over for me since she was on her way over there and needed to drop a couple of things off here for me.

In other news, Panda's new bridle came today! HURRAH! Now I just need to try it on and see if it fits.

I have the base colors down and have started detailing the first panel of Page 24. If I keep after myself I should be able to finish it next week, which would be insanely good as it puts me one less page behind on Shifting Times.

The revamping of the website is moving along. I'm also going to start condensing the galleries I'm at online. I currently have places at: Deviantart, Sheezyart, Furaffinity (not sure if that counts at the moment), ArtWanted, VCL, Elfwood, ArtLimited, Jaxpad, and ... I think I still have an ancient account at Side 7 as well and YNA. I'll probably leave one image up at the ones I don't really have a presence on anymore and direct them to my website or something like that. But yes, condensing would be good. Concentrate it at maybe two or three galleries and stuff on the website. I am going to gear my website more towards portfolios of my best work so it doesn't necessarily need to be updated often, but I will keep it fresh. I'd like to update it quarterly at least. Monthly would be great, but I don't have the time during the school year so we'll say quarterly until I'm finished in May.

Holy cow, MAY! Do you realize that is just about ten months away? TEN MONTHS! We're not talking three, two years, we're not even talking a year, but TEN MONTHS!

I will be so happy to be finished with school and be able to move on with life. Not that it hasn't been a wonderful experience, but I am ready to be done with the pressure of grades and classes. I'd love to still take a class each semester just to be in the learning environment, but it will be nice to have the pressure off and be able to say "I did it."
