LepreCon 33 - Report

May 14, 2007 07:35

I have to admit that I didn't spend too much time at the Convention, though I probably should have. I had other things going on, though, such as lessons, going to Shilo's endowment, and the fact that Sunday was Mother's Day.

Next year (as well as this fall's CopperCon) I plan on hanging around a bit more, going to the panels and meeting people.

Unfortunately my meager goal was not met. Nothing sold. I console myself with the fact that a few other artists didn't sell anything either and talking to the guy in charge, the crowd was a bit smaller than it had been in some of the previous years.

I will be returning again next year, and hopefully with a stronger body of art. I know a few of my pieces were rather weak, but hopefully I can shore up the group a bit and kick up my quality. I'm also hoping for CopperCon to go a little better and possibly get a sale or two there.

I did get to meet a couple of local artists and also saw Stellar again, a woman that was in my 2D class in the Fall, along with meeting her husband who was an artist in the show and a panelist for some of the forums (sadly, he also didn't sell anything).

So here's to next year and the next convention! Cheers!

Of course, the good news is that I won't have to spend as much framing and matting everything for CopperCon.

Chris said that she needed some hay sticking out of her mouth to capture the true essence of Dakota (who is sometimes known as the Hungry Mare), but I told him I'd be saving that for another picture.
