This is true, I could have worked a horse instead of trimming Talon's feet today, but ah well! Four feet down, 28 to go ...

It is a lot of feet! We have eight horses.

I like to try keeping them on a four week cycle. If you keep a tighter cycle than the classic 6-8 weeks the foot stays better balanced and you experience less chipping and breakages because you don't have extra foot hanging out where it isn't supposed to be and experiencing excessive leverage or concussive forces.
