Wie die Pferde frühstücken

This is how feeding the herd breakfast looks like now.

Food is in their hay bags/feeders and I open the gates before letting them into the small turnout.

They are a good herd even if Zeke and Talon still like to switch places. It used to be a lot more chaotic, this is a good year's worth of work getting this smooth!

Aw, they're so sweet!

My mom would bug her eyes and sigh deeply thinking of having a setup like you do! We had two stalls for horses in need a little personal time or healing... but what she would have given to have stalls for everyone (or even half of everyone) to break up the biting parties or manage individual grooming/trimming or harnessing/saddling rather than just up at the hitchin' post in the sun/snow/wind/rain!

They're all so sweet! And there are always the horses who will run for food first, aren't there?

"ME!! Me first!!!"

It is small, but efficient! They eat loose together in the evenings and then "load up" for breakfast so the ones that need extra can get it (or at least to not have their food eaten by the hogs).

They are a good crew.

Yep! Talon the boss mare must eat breakfast first. Zeke appears to have dropped to number four, he used to be just on his mom's heels all the time.
