I had time Thursday afternoon to harness Tru-D up and work her a bit. She did much better this time, especially standing still to be hooked. I think it is a matter of habit and just doing it more ( Read more... )

Lisa is fantastic to work with. She doesn't do the fanciest stitching, but it is servicable and strong and very reasonably priced. I'm sure she'll be able to accomodate Addy's possible growth!

The only reason I had to replace reins is because Kitt would suck them into her mouth when students didn't pay attention and eventually destroyed the outer coating on the beta in parts. Everything else has held up great with daily (sometimes more!) use over the course of three or so years I have been using them.

I had her make one for Tru-D when she was coming two and at almost four it still had a hole left on the noseband. I did have an extra chin strap made this year to give me more room to play with ($10). Tru-D has a lot larger head than she looks! When Tru-D is ready for a show bridle I'll probably go for Parry Tack (who is also awesome to work with), but this will continue to be her every day bridle.

Here is hers with the rope long lines fed through like a cross-under. I really like the Evolution model and Jasper may eventually get one, but the hackamore bridle is pretty much it without the noseband and gullet strap. You could do the same thing with longer cheeks for the bit.

Jasper's bridle will have adjustability at the crown and brow with Conway buckles. I'm excited to see how it turns out and will definitely be posting pictures when it comes in.
