Tru-D erwachsen

Tuesday I worked Tru-D in the long lines and tried her in one of the cross-under bridles. Conclusion: she is VERY sensitive. I ended up dropping it to the side-pull setting so she could feel like she was allowed to go forward.

Of course I knew she was a sensitive creature, but I didn't think the cross-under bitless would get her so stuck. I had worked with her in it on exercises in-hand getting her to bend and move her haunch and fore quarters, but perhaps the action of the lines whole double-lungeing as they have to go across and around her hip on the outside was too much. I don't know. Figure I'll work her using the side-pull action for a while before experimenting again.

She did do pretty well once we got our equipment sorted. She trotted and cantered and had an excellent "whoa." A little sticky on the turns, but still processing that.

Today she had her feet done and I wrapped the leadrope around the fence a couple times and stood at her head this time. This was the second time we took her out of her pen and into Kevin's preferred work area and the first time we haven't sidled her up to the fence to keep her from wiggling. Very proud of our growing baby horse.
